After destroying 2 left hand Barkbusters in the last month, I neede to get my bike up & running again.
I saw an ad for Biketique http://www.biketique.com.au/index.html in one of the recent magazines & looked up their website. Aussie company a definite plus
Their HG2-Kit ($89.95 including your choice of mount kit)ticked all the boxes, aviation grade alloy, billet mounts & individual replacement parts available.
Ordered them yesterday & they arrived today, they look the shit. Much better finish than the opposition.
Fitted them up using a combination of their mounts in the bar ends & my old triple clamp mounts.
They are quality at a cheap price compared to the others the same in another brand would have cost me $169 & these we delivered for near on $100
I have no affiliation with Biketique….. just sharing my experience & hoping we all can save a few $$$$$$$$$
Will update this thread if they fail to deliver, hopefuly I won’t be falling off as much as I have been

Chris………..Im not more than a weekend warrior myself, just have a list of races I want to do & tick off the list. With my recent races I’ve had the chance to crash test a few items. Hopefully that is over now
July 20, 2010 at 11:37 pm #183707I was looking at a set of these today.. The price jumped up for some reason.. The kit is now $122
January 6, 2011 at 11:20 am #184331Well here is what I have experienced with Biketique guards I had a pair of these and after only drop while turning around in a pine forest on a wet day the left one ended up bent  Jeffo’s vee strom fell over the first night it rained on the Camerons trip and bent his  the bike was stopped sitting on the centre stand
Just before Coffs I fitted a set to Crash’s 650 with new red plastics, today just over 6 weeks later I saw them on his bike at Tekniks and the plastic has faded, the bike is inside there as it has no forks or shock in it and they have been closed for two weeks
Well thats my experince with them for what its worth

January 7, 2011 at 1:58 am #194038ive had a set on my 300 for a couple of months now and are quite happy with them the plastics are white so i havent noticed any fading but i have come off once or twice…….well maybe more than that and they seem to be standing up to it . The main thing i like about them is how they set up in the bar ends they dont have the pastic star pull through , they are set up like the gooseneck of a pushbike 2 piecescut diagonally and it just nips up and tightens
September 16, 2011 at 3:31 am #183708Well, after 12 odd months these hand guards get my tick of approval…maybe I’m lucky, dunno… ???
Had a few offs but nothing too heavy until the other day were I crunched at a good 70 kays or so. I came down on my right hand side with the hand guard coping a good brunt of the impact (I think) Split and gouged the plastic cover and ripped the end of the handgaurds from the bars.
Back at home I popped the end back into bars and weaved a cable tie through the split plastic and sanded the gouging as best as possible. The steel supporrt was still relatively true and not at all overly deformed.
Apart from this latest off I’ve had plenty of “drops” and the Biketiques seem to take the punishment OK. I know there are alot of variables at hand but got to say I’m a happy camper.
Ohhh, and they are still shiny, just a bit scratched !
September 16, 2011 at 10:42 am #208988Thanks for the write up Wally, I really like “real” people’s thoughts and experiences, someone that has spent the time and coin and can say it as they see it without worry about them advertising in their magazine
Cheers

September 16, 2011 at 3:00 pm #208992Note: Biketique acknowledged they had a problem with a batch of guards and replaced mine “no questions asked, free of charge”
I reckon they’re a good thing too!
