Black Springs 21/06/2009

Just thought I’d post some pics from a DSMRA ride. There were three Old Bulls on the ride. Me, Medogrocket and Gotchya. We rode from Black Springs to the Kowmung River for lunch and then back the same way. It was a nice cruisy ride on fire trails mainly and a couple of easy single tracks. There had been a fair bit of rain the night before which made some of the less used fire trails very slippery. There were a few offs, one flat that was fixed three times due to not seeing the piece of wire in the tyre and one broken chain.

One of the guys that hasn’t got his new bike yet drove down to the river with the family and set up the camp kitchen from hell and cooked us steak sandwiches. It was a top effort by John.

The river crossing we had lunch at is the big one we were supposed to cross on the Caves to Caves ride. Water is a fair bit lower now.

Looks like a great ride Mal, would be interested in going out there if you are in the future, I was think about in august running a ride from Hampton to the kowmung and back but have to see as I could be having my shoulder done in the hope of being back for the snowy ride in November ( as the latest specialist has told be 3 months if I do my rehabilitation ), that means I would only be a spectator at Louee :angry:
