 Is that the same Mother of a Hill where te username “Losta Lotsa” was born ????
If it is, I can certainly see how he got stuck on his own :S

So we left home on time, slabbed it to Wisemans where Lefty topped his fuel. A quick ferry ride and we rode up through St Alburns. Onto the dirt proper and away we went, there was heaps of water around the Common

From there it was into the Watagans, the road crew had been out and cleaned all the edges and drains with a dozer which and ripped the roads up which would be ripper :woohoo: Well it had rained and rained it appeared buy the grader hadn’t  It made it very interesting, big long two wheels drifts while going straight on a big ADV bike is a huge attention getter :P
We soon turned into the mountain bike track area to head over to Freemans waterhole. It was wet with many a bog hole to keep you on your toes, all was well until Deejay had a little lay down. No harm done we thought at first, but it turned out he had broken the top bolt on his right hand pannier bracket. We pulled it all apart, fixed it and repacked but we had lost sometime. I rang Eagle and we met Deano and Eags after a quick slab up the last bit of the F3. After a quick hi we left and got to Buladelah as fast as we could. It was almost 12 and we hadn’t even had lunch  once all that was sorted and more fuel for Lefty we hit the dirt. Between there and Wauchope we did as much dirt as we could time permitting

There was a bog hole section while on the phone to Mick :pinch:

Once in Wauchope went straight to the bottle shop and got me a cartoon on Bundies to strap to the back of the Tenere with Deejays Jacks. Lefty was seen heading for Micks with his shopping bags on the handle bars ;)

Once at Micks it was on like Donkey Kong. It was a good night, Eagle left early as usual but sadly took Moose, Kram and Deano with him  Mean while at the shed party it got weird

Lefty practicing his causeway crossing but it was a waste of time.

Then he took his pants off

But still he tried other bikes, practice makes perfect Lefty :P

Deejay just watched on looking snappy

Mick just wondered what was happening as normal :silly:

Then things just got hazy

 How can I get the blame for leaving early ???
It was Moose` idea actually as Kath had a BBQ dinner organised for us important ones :P

Moose & Kram were ready to go, and then they had to wait for me & Dean to suit up to follow them over the river (thats why Kram put his helmet & jacket doen on the tinnie & left them behind)

The end of the sunday ride is a blurr to me now, I was getting pretty tired and my eyes were hanging out of my head from the dust and setting sun
Will try to finish my report tomorrow

I rode 1155klms in the two & a half days of the Wauchope-Nundle ride :woohoo:

Didn`t know I had it in me  :cheer:

AWSOME ride actually , truly with a bit of everything ;)
I was shitting bricks on that mountain in the storm heading up (knowing we would have to go down down down somehow)

I have had no real soreness in the arms or back at all, just a bit tired yesterday (the midnight plus nights didn`t help) :)
Today I was feeling great & ready to go again :woohoo:

Probably no weekend rides for me till after XMAS now though, work is on the pump and working most of the early New Year, already booked in   :pinch:

Hopefully 2012 will see me out on some good two & three dayers for sure ;)

    Cheers

Well I woke at Micks feeling well good  (never happened like that before) we had a late start so it was a fairly casual get ready and up to the take away for a bacon and egg roll, two dim sims and a powerade. (didn’t really know what was happening re lunch so I stocked up  ) we met down outside Timbertown. Lefty checked the underside of my bike out when he pulled up, it wasn’t the last time either on the weekend he looked under my bike when he stopped  I thought he was falling off cause of his short legs, but he said he just wanted to check everything out

Away we went following Moose and watching Puddles, waiting for him to go home :P It was great ride along the mountain ridge for a while there. Deejay and I swept although I had a couple of racy moments I generally behaved myself. Strucky pulled up and said he couldnt change gears, I thought shit that doesn’t sound good but it was only a rock  we crossed a river creek thing with Deejay creating the biggest bow wave I have seen for years :silly: Tip young fellow, shut your visor :P

We continued on, I was getting sore neck muscles from watching Eags. Now for a guy who’s avatar signature says roll in on slow he was at that moment like a deer with no eyes :P He had about 3 BIG moments on the slippery surface and he was going to get hurt  soon he had the mighty Kato under control and we ran out to the Oxley Hwy. When we were away at Camerons there were a few drag races and my Tenere was undefeated ;) But the general feeling from the losers was that my bike was unloaded (yes even with my fat arse on  ) so on this ride I offered Deejay a crack at the title even though this time he was riding an unloaded bike and mine was loaded and had my fat arse on board. Well what can I say, winner winner chicken dinner for the Tenere :woohoo: After that was settled Toes who didn’t know what’s was going on sped past, I chased hard and even though I topped out on the private section at 171 (speedo) he was gone

A snack and fuel at Gingers creek and back up past where we joined, then back to the dirt out through Nowandoc (spelling) Deejay and I just about wore a set of brake pads out stopping every 10kms for Lefty, seems as though he has a Chinese bladder  or iis taking his lining out or putting it back in or something  But it was good cause it stopped us running into the groups dust all the time. It tried to rain and the run down the hill into Nundle on knobbies in the wet wasn’t fun

We arrived at the caravan park and paid for our sites. Setting up camp is second nature at the minute, it was actually discussed and worked out that I had spent more nights in October in my tent or away riding than at home

Sorry no pictures from today and I failed to mention the many black snakes we saw  one made me squeal like a girl

It was a great night as per the Xmas party ride report

    Day 3 later

Possibly Eags, did it have painted signs next to trees with sayings something like “overnight accomodation $5, possoms free”, old election signs from john howard marking caution points. goggle tear offs lying around, ‘Poofter hill” sign. See the old RR and the recovery RR, there may be some clues in that and some photos.

I was at the bottom of a gully and 60mm of rain had fallen in one hour. It gets slippery around there.

    Nah
But talking to MickP over a beer this evening on his boat, it sounds like that whole area has caused some general carnage amongst you blokes
You, Gav, Joe & even Mick himself have had some sort of dramas up that way in the past B)

Also talking to Mick, we should have gone straight through the gate on the main trail and not detoured up past old mates caravan and onto the mountain :S It was bit of excitement to spice up the trip nonetheless

Awsome trails and hills up there though ;)

Mick must of been there in June  Nah we went the best way, hindsight is twenty vision :P was a great adventure and I wouldn’t change it, it rocked was scary and steep

BTW the straight ahead had a padlocked gate and was marked private property no trespassing. Maybe talking of different tracks

Am going back up there in Jan or Feb ;)

Yeah it was bloody awesome. :woohoo: I can’t wait for the next one. I think the unknown is what makes it and having to deal with the conditions as they arise. ;)

He described it pretty spot on though, reckons it wasn`t padlocked last he was there  SO maybe been locked since ??? It happens

Yeah it as a wicked run, and would be different each time you run it I reckon, with differing conditions etc ;)
We were lucky to see the area so lush & green, normally its dry & brown

I spoke to a guy today that was there only a short time ago & he said the creek crossings were all graded & smooth as a babys bum !!! Not the case at the moment, rocky & loose most of `em

You hit the nail right on the head with that statement Lefty, that is what puts the A in adventure riding. Gotta throw the occasional Valley of death section in, or the ride isn’t as memorable!
