Guys, seal savers serviced every ride will save your seals with out a doubt(and lets face it its easy to unvelcro clean and reinstall them), if you do not clean them out every ride they will hold dirt and act like fine emery…..cleaning regularly is the go:) :)

    Cheers Guys,
Yeah Shane Vor, I reckon I`ll just get em done up here mate, $$$ on fuel trip:(
I have been using silicone spray on the rad shrouds & guard inners etc, never thought of it on the sliders, great idea THANKS:) :) :)
Think I`ll take legs off next week & run em in to Al for that price then ;)

ESKIMOS CAN BLOW AS MANY SEALS AS THEY LIKE RAT:blush: I`m gonna fit Seal Savers as well:) & make it hard for the ESKIMOS:P

I can’t fathom why my seals kept leaking then…cleaned and dried after every ride…I guess they work for some and not others.
I reckon if they were any good you’d see more of them around…

The OB ones though might just be different!

Just spoke to a dude in Newy that runs Newcastle Dirtbike Dismantlers, he says he does forks for $110 labour + OIL cost,,,,
Is that a fair deal ??? I have no idea:unsure:

Also gave him some flyers that he`s gonna laminate & stick in window of shop:) Reckons he might copy some off & place em on the counter as well for dudes to pick up;)
I spoke to him & his wife prior to Hill End when I picked up spare chain link etc he was keen to hear how we went, so I dropped by today for a yarn:P
He is impressed with our setup, type of riding & general attitude to all in the sport:woohoo:

If you guys are around this way pop in to his shop for a chat,OR a purchase of some parts or gear. He`s a nice bloke (like us):cheer:

Good work eagle, we will go forth and multiply.

    Chris.

I’ve just had my fork seals replaced and had the suspension set-up with a new spring on the back. I think when done correctly it’s the best mod you can do. Will find out if mine is any good soon :)

Moto, did you get one of those swanky vavle do hicky things whacked in the rear for the PDS.( or dont you have PDS rear?) They reckon “if you aint got one, your doing yourself a dis-service”. Just curious??

Eagle 02, is it blown seal or a leak? if just a leak it may be that some crud is caught up and a simple “wipe” around with an .004 feeler gauge may fix? ….Just a thought. My Husky suffered this early in the piece..quick wipe around..no more leak…reminds me, i should get the oil level checked on day….

    NAH Husky,
Pretty sure she has had the ESKIMO treatment:) :)
I have had leaks prior & had feelers up under the wipers etc. It used to drop 1 or 2 drops of oil on a hot arvo ride home from work(not in mornings) so I gathered this was due to the higher ambient temp heating the oil more in the arvo, thus the slight leak????

With the bigger hits I suffered on the weekend ride, there was oil all over the slider & brake caliper (seemed to happen sometime after Yetholme) The abundant dust on the ride soon showed up the leaking oil:blink:
I`m gonna have them redone anyway as the KLX now has 10,500ks up & they probably haven`t been looked at before anyway ,,,
    Cheers

For grips try wrapping the ends of the bar in insulation tape then swishing some petrol around inside the grip. This will melt the grip slightly as it goes on and it will set hard as buggery. The tape allows you to get the grips off again afterwards with no problem. No tie wire required either. Simple, fast and very effective.:)

What about the throttle side ?

Yep, both sides. Use it every time, works perfectly! Just don’t forget the insulation tape underneath or it becomes problematic to remove the grips when they are done. Try it next time, you won’t do it any other way again!
