Has anybody used the Torpedo 7 brake discs
I know you get what you pay for usually, but at $42 verses $220 KTM, seems like a no brainer:blink:
Keen to hear some reports
I will purchase the pads from Torpedo 7 as they are the same EBC sintered pads we use anyway just cheaper
Cheers
MurphMarch 31, 2015 at 5:52 am #261552murph I have used them on the drz and Honda without any issues. Bizarre though that they and the sherco all use the same front pads!
March 31, 2015 at 7:14 am #261556I have been buying plenty of consumables from Torpedo7 for about 4 years , nothing but good quality stuff at reasonable prices is my experience (Known brand names only ) . Sometimes have to wait a bit longer than you’d expect for stuff to turn up though considering the distance said items have to travel . Torpedo7 is in Sydney and I am in Newcastle but some things have taken over a week to get here  . Maybe that the stock was not in the warehouse so had to wait for arrival at the warehouse  before it was sent or sumthin’ .

Most of their product is shipped out of NZ but is still no excuse for how slowly they deliver. I have always found their stuff to be good quality but don’t order on a Monday and expect to have it by the weekend.

Yep they have a Kiwi adress , but all the stuff I have had posted to me from them comes from an Address in Strawberry Hills , which is smack bang in the middle of Sydney .
April 1, 2015 at 10:04 am #261570They have their .au office in Sydney but they ship out of NZ. I pasted the response I got from them last time they took forever getting something out.
They are a successful company but not quite good enough to own a warehouse in Strawberry Hills :laugh:STM

Subject: Torpedo7Hi Scott
Thank you for your email, unfortunately Amy is still awaiting a reply which can take sometimes 48 hours or just over. At this stage as the skis are actually classed as a large/bulky item which can get held up in Australian customs to be checked over and do have to have a separate process than a straight forward apparel or small good order. This can cause some delays to occur.
If you have any further queries, please do not hesitate to contact us.
Kind Regards, Holli
Torpedo7 Customer ServicesApril 3, 2015 at 12:12 am #261571Still undecided
Probably will go with Torpedo7 for our brake parts
Even though I believe we have to obtain different mounting bolts, (ie, original discs are counterbored and the Torpedo 7 discs are countersunk)
For those of you who think I have lost my mind, your probably right :silly:
Counterbored has a flat bottom in the hole and countersunk has a tapered one
Cheers
MurphApril 3, 2015 at 8:08 am #261553Murph,
At $42 v $217.15 for genuine you could even drill the magnet hole and still go nowhere near the cost of the genuine.
Having said that genuine at parts pit stop is $86.08. 👿
I wonder if the local shops are surprised people shop elsewhere.
Adam.

MurphApril 3, 2015 at 8:45 pm #261577have you considered getting a solid rear disc the pads last a lot longer
April 3, 2015 at 10:43 pm #261578Thats what I used to run on all my 525’s and yes, I would prefer them, Rocket.

On closer inspection there seems to be the whole for speedo sensor. Unfortunately they are out of stock though :pinch:
Just had a look at Pit stop but could not navigate my way to any spare parts except for the tab for OEM parts. Checked it out but the discs were also too expensive ie $206 front and $176 for the rear????
Rocky mountain ATV in America have good pricing but are not allowed to export these items??????
Cheers

Torpedo7 Customer ServicesSo , it appears that Torpedo7 ship an order to the Sydney office / shopfront from New Zealand and then break down that order and ship individual items / packages to the customers . Seems like a process that could be pared down with some thought and intelligence to speed up the delivery side of things .
