She is obviously blind I’ve ony got ropey little girl arms. She must be thinking of someone else when I’m lifting the 250 for her:huh:

Maybe it was Deamis she was thinking of Boony:laugh:

Now back on topic – the Yamaha WR250R is one under rated bike. A few changes and you have got a top bike.

Kylie do you know the correct way to pick up your bike? Might make a difference? I can pick up my mates BMW 1150GS Adventure with a full camping load on it if I lift it right. You need to squat down with your back against the bike, with one hand on the lower hand grip and one hand around the tail (even better if it has a grab handle which I think the WRR does??) and just stand up with your knees and then lean back so your butt goes against the seat where it meets the tank and then just take a step backward and it will be up! I amnot trying to be a smart ass if you already know this, but thought it may help if you dont!

If I fell off in front of a crowd that big Id`e bolt and leave the bike there,,,,shame…:woohoo:

    Thanks heaps Rhino and Garry!

I have never seen this before. If the bike either falls uphill or flat I can pick it up. But if it falls downhill (and most of the time it does) I’ve got buckleys. I absolutely hate feeling helpless when this happens. I’m very independent so when I have to wait for someone to come back and help me it is extremely frustrating.

I am yet to try this technique as I am a bit concerned about me trying a controlled bike fall on our concrete garage floor

But I am sure that the next time we go out (which will be Monday for me) I will get many chances to try this technique. From what I can see this would be heaps better for your back.

I noticed that they put the stand down too which is handy if it falls on the right side because I would be worried that I would give it too much of a push and then both me and the bike would land over the other side

I need to practice because TB says that I can’t buy another bike unless I can pick it up.

Kylie if you want to practice it works in reverse for laying the bike down as well… just put your back to a side of the bike, grab the grip closest to you and the rear guard and take a step away from the bike so it starts to lean over to you and then just squat down until you have it touching the ground… easy! Dont worry unless you have a seriously weak knee you will be able to easily take the weight! You wont even have to make a face like this –> :S because your bowel wont even want to blow out your sphincter! hahahahaha ;)

    Okay….

I might need to wait until we get all the talcum powder off the garage floor before I try this. It makes it a tad slippery which could mean I end up with some unpleasantness if I try it now.

    hey Kylie,

just a thought i had last night,

you could also carry a couple or ratchet straps when you ride.

if you have a spell from the upright position near a tree or the likes.

now i’m guessing most of your offs are on uneven ground or tricky inclines.

you can use 1 strap to secure the bike from rolling down the hill, once it’s on it’s wheels,

and use the other 1 to winch the bike back to vertical.

    make any sense?

That said I believe a WR400R at the same weight would be a market leading seller, that I would buy, but only to tow the Mrs around on!

Someone does Fezza, it’s a Gas Gas Pampera, F injected DRZ type suspenders, easy going nature 450, and cheap as chips too.
