So Dan drove down to my place this morning, we set the stand up and gathered the required tools together and stripped his front rim, Dan had already cabled tired the spokes as requested to ease the whole process so when the rim was removed the spokes stayed in place

The rims come with smaller holes then required for most bikes so they can be drilled for all different bikes and nipple sizes, so I got Dan onto that job

    P6280088Small.jpg

I started fitting it up whilst Dan drilled the back rim, and it went really well, we had measured and recorded the of set from the disc face to the rim and got it first go !

    P6280091Small.jpg

Used a dial indicator to measure run out and got it to within 25 thousands of an inch which we decided was OK, we had started into the rums and beers by this stage, that aside thats well within spec

    P6280090Small.jpg

Repeated the process on the rear happy days

Then Dan produced the two most abused and worn tyres I have seen in sometime much to me discust, gave him a metzeler six day front tyre that I had used for a while, the one that comes standard on most new Kato’s

Fitted that and his worn out rear, we gave everything a clean and took some snaps, we had a BBQ lunch, how good was the satay chicken and roo meat.

It took less than 3 hrs Jak, I reckon I could do a set now in under 2 and a half hrs

The hugest thankyou to you TB – you are a dead set legend:)

I will be fitting everything back together later once the little D’s go to bed.

I am looking forward to getting out tomorrow fo a blat. Although I might get Kylie to lead so she can throw herself down in any mud so I don’t get the rims dirty.

Hopefully our ride tomorrow will sort out any settling that is required before next weekends biggest days out.

Thankyou again TB and Salina for your hospitallity and the great lunch, you are both some of the nicest people I have ever met.

And whats this about my good pre-loved tyres TB?

They were the best of the worst that I had:blush:

I cant say thankyou enough mate and by the way enjoy your birthday tomorrow:P

Sweet looking rims. Do you have a tyre fitting machine or did you fit the tyres with levers. I would have been concerned you would scratch them. They look too good to put on a bike.:)

    #141578

Tb has a machine…..cause he has no muscles:laugh:

they look sh!thot dan…..now go get them dirty!!!!!;)

i await tomorrows ride report/product review!

I fitted them with levers, if you are careful its not a problem getting them of has the potential to do more damage

Its all good and they are a great price and a good option when you have a damaged rim or just want to pimp your ride
