Hi all,
cleaned out the bum bag yesterday and discovered that one of the side pouches has torn, so need a new one.
What does everyone use – I have been through 2 now so have been thinking kelly enduro, who has one, what are they like – any otherscheers Hatto

From all reports Kelly is the go.
February 8, 2010 at 1:46 am #170519Nothing but a Kelly, I heard Porky has the business up for sale as well

February 8, 2010 at 1:51 am #170514+ one for the Kelly, My last one lasted 12 years and only the Zips failed in the end, almost as cheap to replace the bag over new zips, so have bought a new one.
February 8, 2010 at 2:41 am #170515I put my tools in a Ballards tool roll and that plus tube etc all goes in my Camelbak Mule along with munchies etc.
I find the Mule a little small tho, might be better to get the Hawg, it has more cargo space + 3L bladder.February 8, 2010 at 2:58 am #170524WikdBeemer wrote:

I find the Mule a little small tho, might be better to get the Hawg, it has more cargo space + 3L bladder.I used to carry tools in backpack but it got to heavy, with 3 ltrs, first aid, leavers, extra goggles, gloves, maps, munchies, tow rope, wallet, keys, soon to be epirb and other bits, I changed to bum bag which is great,(I also wear the pouch on the front, which i find more comfy) i just figured this time I would try and buy something that will last – looks like a kelly is the go
HattoFebruary 8, 2010 at 3:13 am #170527I reckon if you are carrying the needed tools and spares to be 100% self supportive (and thats why you carry them isnt it?) your gear in a back pack / camelback is too heavy and will cause unnecessary pain and strain where a bumbag carries the weight low and where your body pivots

Now if I could only decide the colour – decisions, decisions, decisions   :laugh:February 8, 2010 at 4:01 am #170531Now you got me thinking Hatto, I might just drop a hint or two around the missus that I’d like one of those Kelly bum bags for my Birthday. I think I will go with a black one, as it wont show greasy hand prints as much.
February 8, 2010 at 4:01 am #170532Hatto Ive had a Kelly for about 3 years now and she is still going strong. I just give her a wipe over with some Lanolin every now and then and its all good.

February 8, 2010 at 4:30 am #170534I’ve got a kelly too. When purchasing I thought it was dear but now it is just good value. I even carry a spare front tube in mine.

They do seem to last very well, the one I have now(can’t remember the brand) has just gone 2.5 yrs and I have stitched back up twice.
