    Hi All,
Looking for some advice on what you think are the essential items to carry in your bum bag and backpack on a ride and what is better left in the shed. Hopefully this may help me lighten what is in mine or maybe it may add more weight.
    Any advice would be appreciated.:)

My rule of thumb is to service my bike and do as many repairs as possible with the tools in my bumbag , that way you know jobs you can do on the trail are possible with what you carry. I got a Bahco mini socket set that is awesome , I picked out the best bits to take ( sockets, torx , Allen key bits etc ).

I only carry 1 21″ standard tube on a trail ride , a spark plug , cable repair kit , spare chain links , quick metal and I have clutch , brake and gear lever cable tied to the bike under the seat.

My backpack has a small bag of nuts and bolts , tyre levers , pain killers , a compression bandage and snakes ;)

Hope some of this helps mate !!

I actually only carry half the tools I need, I ride with a bloke that rides the same kind of bike as mine so we share the weight load.
In mine there is some tools, crack ,dope, ekky pills, rolly papers, lighter and a razor blade.ooops sorry thats my night club bag… :pinch: :pinch: :pinch: :pinch: :pinch:

Just swing it round to the front Rob and it becomes surprisingly light when on the bike
    Mine does anyway ;)

I tend to carry too much, but better to have it than go without :pinch: I also ride a bit alone or in small groups , so need to carry the gear anyway !!!

    Cheers

Too much risk of damaging your own toolkit if you wear it around the front eags!
