Busted the starter button today before I left for work:angry:Fell apart under the thumb, so its off to Kawasaki for a new assembly $72 later, and a day off the road,,,,
Also got wife to enquire about the optional Kick Starter and $$$ figure to set it up,,,,,
She was told to forget it, it aint viable & would cost half the price of a new bike  WTFSo why is it an OPTION when they are purchased new I ask ????? WTF
Anyone got any input into this saga, or has anyone here actually had one fitted aftermarket??
I might enquire around & try to acquire the parts cheaper & put em in myself,,,:unsure:June 11, 2009 at 8:29 am #139087EAGLE`02 wrote:

June 11, 2009 at 9:10 am #139096Eagle you need a starter button is that all? Why do you need a genuine Kawasaki one  , go to the wreckers and get any starter button! No drama
Boony $350 I was quoted for a DRZ kick start kit last year for a mate

June 11, 2009 at 9:18 am #139089Yeah, but missus already ordered genuine assembly this morning & paid for it to boot:huh:
Plus the stop button was playing up anyway, so I wasn`t using it which was a pain in the A%#

That $350 for the DRZ kiker kit is a good price TB, Is Boony dreaming that it will be the same as the KLX ???Sounds a bit strange to me,,,,,
Anyway Boony, there ya go $350 is a damn sight cheaper than your original $$$, even if ya have to add a bit to thatJune 12, 2009 at 8:03 am #139111EAGLE`02 wrote:

That $350 for the DRZ kiker kit is a good price TBThats sounds about what I was quoted when first looking at the DR’s plus fitting. When I asked for one the guy wouldn’t sell me one, said they were a waste of money cause they wouldn’t work unless you had electrical charge anyway.
June 12, 2009 at 9:23 am #139091Got new assembly next day, fitted in 15 mins & ready to rock;) (Even starts & stops:P )
Now I just have to wait till monday to commute to work again in the 4-8 degrees range BBBRRRRRI Love It:laugh:
June 12, 2009 at 9:40 am #1392348 degrees warmer than up here this morning

June 12, 2009 at 11:02 am #139244WTF  a kickstarter is an option on a DIRTBIKE, when did this happen? if I had to one or the other, the right leg is the one I’ll choose (or left leg if it’s some euros or an old honda CR).

 Have you been hiding in a cave Blue ????
Sadly we have all been softened with the Electric Leg, and more & more bikes it seems have the good old Kicker as exactly that, an option:( Pity the option is so damn expensive on a few as well:angry:Funnily enough, I couldn`t wait to get rid of the old XR with the kicker for a push buton job,,,, Now I`d love to have the kicker back, (as an extra, anyway)
CheersJune 12, 2009 at 11:09 am #139258Mr Blue wrote:
