Great day out with some of the true gentlemen from OBT
Thanks to Lotsa, Tryhard, Adam, Pikey, Dusty and the only HDR, Offline for making it a memerable day
Everone was on time for the start and the day flowed nicely
No break downs or injuries which is always a great thing
Even though it was a grade 3ish ride it was still plenty of fun
We did our singles to get out to Awaba then out the Bangalow area
I then showed the boys the easy way to conquer Amazon (down) and it was back to the Awaba area to do all the singles
I must admitt I was starting to get sick of singles towards the end of the day but these are such great fun that you just had to keep going
Three of the boys had switched to reserve so instead of doing the hilly way back we just headed straight for home
98.9kms travelled
Highlites for me were:-
All of the singles
Imagining the smiles on everybodys faces through the Bangalow bog
Seeing Tryhard nearly going over the bars down Amazon.
Pikey staying very composed on the Amazon decent
Dusty’s failed attempt on the little erzberg quarry hill (He got it second go)
Pikey’s stylish flip/dance at the top of the same test.
Hope to have some photos up later
Cheers

Top bunch of blokes and good to meet Offline, Pikey and Dusty

January 7, 2012 at 3:29 pm #214189Casual day out with Murph I see. Nice shots. That one of Dusty in the quarry is cool. Looks like he did it on the back wheel to show off.
Reading all this is making the cabin fever here worse. Well done lads.January 7, 2012 at 3:30 pm #214181Thanks Murph & the rest of the crew, only the second time riding Murphs ride & glad it was only a great 3 as i

January 7, 2012 at 9:19 pm #214182Great ride Murph
Lucky you had the flu and weren’t up to a full on Murfsburg!!!
The day was a perfect grade three ride. A few challenges with go arounds if required but generally weren’t. I haven’t ridden that area for years and we did about 20 minutes of track that I knew. I love the singles and the loose terrain keeps you on your toes.A bit of a break
Adam
Dusty showing his fresh lantana blood
Dusty down amazon doing it easy
Tryhard down amazon
Good to meet new faces and catch up with old ones.
Looking forward to more grade three rides and murphburgs
January 7, 2012 at 11:01 pm #214199Thanks boys for the awesome day of riding and meeting a couple of new faces. It has pretty well all been said but thanks Murph for leading they where some nice singles. Have to admit when my bike went on reserve I was already running on reserve .Until next time.Pikey
January 7, 2012 at 11:12 pm #214183Hi Murph
Thanks for a top day out yesterday mate. I had heaps of fun. Thanks to all the other fellas too for a top ride in great company. Even though it was grade 3 I knew that their would be a few little challenges to test us a bit :cheer: Down old amazon I picked up some lantana which gave me a close shave and stung for a bit.I was nice and hot so anything harder would have had me stuggling a lot more as I was pretty well stuffed when i got home but pulled up ok today.
Good times had. Riding with Murph on his single tracks.
Meeting some other OldBulls and having a laugh with em.
Nearly going over the bars when me back wheel hooked up in a boghole
The little quarry hill.
Enjoying my first proper ride in a while.
Seeing Tryhard Joe pull some good wheelstands 😆
Lotsa giving me a bolt for me gear stick.
Watching Offline push the DRZ400 through all the tight stuff .
The cold bottle of water that Murph gave us at the end of a great ride.
Having a break out at Bungalow and checking out the little cabin with the fellasLotsa ,Adam, Offline and Pikey it was nice to meet ya’s. Hope to catch ya’s on other OldBull rides. :cheer:
I took some pics but don’t have the right app on my home computer so will post em up later.

Murph,
I topped up the 350 on Sunday, it took 6 litres
Now to be able to last as long as the bike I need to near double my fitness and carry an extra couple of litres of water
By the way that bottle of ice water you gave me after the ride was greatly appreciated
Adam.
January 9, 2012 at 9:43 am #214217Hey Eags
Those pics aren’t Bangalow bog but a decent bog none the less. :STo the crew.
There were beers in the fridge but I thought the iced water would be more appreciated. :woohoo:Adam
Did you run out of water? My pack has a huge bladder in it and yes it was getting dangerously low towards the end of the ride. :ohmy:Axel
I won’t post the sequence shots of Dusty. We’ll just leave it at that. :whistle:Nickj
The 250 would eat it up mate. When are you northerners coming down?Lotsa
That a great pic of Tryhard descending Amazon, mate.
Cheers
MurphJanuary 9, 2012 at 10:05 am #214185Murph,
The bladder is a 3 litre. I knew we were nearing the end so I drank it dry
The bike would go close to 150 km’s on that type of ride however there’s no way I could  :pinch:
It was a top ride :woohoo: and Sam’s jealous
Adam.
