Ok so we all know there is a plan B on the table if Camerons isn’t looking good. We all understand while it may not rain the actual day we are there. If it has rained 10 to 20 mil the days before they will more than likely close the road for what could be 5 days or two weeks no one knows.
Camerons is still the A plan and will be to later this week and I hope it comes off as I have put too much into it to not do it. That said so much has gone into it I don’t want to half arse it either. I dont want to be running around from the rain like last year
With that in mind if there is any doubt I am going elsewhere and doing some other tracks I was planning to do later. Basically a decision will be better than indecision to get ready and organised. If the ride is canned and you really still want to go or dont agree with the decision you can still go to Camerons I can supply a route for a cost
Once it’s confirmed either way it’s done, I know hindsight is 20/20 vision we can all say afterwards we should have or could have but didn’t so we won’t need to cover that hopefullyFingers crossed like Nick said :woohoo:

September 26, 2011 at 4:06 pm #209700TB, I’m not interested in spending my holiday dodging the rain either. Having said that, I still want to go some where with the time that I’ve arranged off work.
Looking at your below quote, will we know prior to this weekend where we are actually going to in your plan B. I only ask as I assume we will all have to make alternate plans now. (meet point etc etc etc)

September 26, 2011 at 5:30 pm #209702How’s this for a coincidence …..
I was installing a fan while talking to TB about the weather out west, the customer happened to overhear and asked what we were planning, I told him about the ride. He just happens to be a property manager from west of Moree and whilst living their was a registered statistic collector for BOM. He said any significant rain events that happen out their are between the start of September and end of October, he just got back from Moree to Yamba today and says the farmers are all looking forward to the coming rain. :pinch:
September 26, 2011 at 6:17 pm #199630Well I hope we are lucky…
I just want to ride somewhere and hang out and have a ball with you all.. Doesn’t matter where it is…
September 26, 2011 at 8:04 pm #209704Guys, Not meaning to rain on your parade (Pardon the pun.)
I was listening to the Country hour on ABC radio today and they have said they are forcasting 30-40mm of rain and up to 50mm in some parts of the wheat belt very soon. The cloud band has already started to build up.
September 26, 2011 at 8:42 pm #199631It seems that Camerons has to be treated like the Cape ,, plan your run for the “Dry Season” and not between Sept or Nov
Good Luck guys, wherever you end up ,,,,September 26, 2011 at 9:06 pm #209708Have just had some more advice, expect an announcement sooner than later

This is why the Bore track is closed
They are paranoid about fire and losing there feed, they have even banned camp fires on both sides of the road from the Corner to bollards lagoon.
