Looking at the long range forecasts this arvo and they are appear to be getting worse for our trip

Rain appears to be a high probability in Qld, NSW, Vic & SA around that week we are planning to ride

Should put the bush fires out – it will make someone happy at least

If it does rain everywhere, Mickp and I will load up the bikes behind Mick’s 4b and just drive around the outback. It’s been done before on another ride and worked out quite well:lol: 😆 😆 😆 😆 😆

Heavy spring rain for northern NSW
    Robert Wood, Saturday October 1, 2011 – 15:57 EST
After one of the driest winters in years, large swathes of northern NSW have received more than double their September average rainfall.

Some of the heaviest rain was across the Northwest & Central Slopes and Plains as well as over much of the Upper Western. Heavy rain fell from Tibooburra to near Glen Innes and south to Port Macquarie and down to Sydney. Most of this area had 100-150% of its typical September rainfall.

The Upper Western district had a great start to spring after one of their driest winters on record. Bourke more than doubled the monthly average and picked up its highest monthly total in 12 years while Lightning ridge received triple their average September rainfall.

Further south, Dubbo had its best September rain in 13 years with most of that falling in just one day. The area of heaviest rain stretched east with Bathurst doubling its average of 46mm, with 101mm falling in the gauge. Finally, Gosford saw its highest September total in more than 2 decades with 179mm, nearly tripling its average of 68mm and comes in stark contrast to last years 38mm.

The outlook for Spring is optimistic with a 55-60% chance of receiving at least average rainfall.
