I can’t commit to anyting at the moment, I won’t know until I find a new job so I would suggest you plan this ride without me.

A little better but not much.Very limited in what I am allowed to do at the moment. not allowed to use the shoulder muscle at all yet, just passive pendular exercises where you lean forward and gently rotate the arm in a circular pendulum motion using the good arm.
I noticed a fair bit of swelling and bruising on the lower bicep today, not sure what that is about. At least the pain is slightly less each day.

Nick J, If you where riding the DR to the corner, what gearing would you be running ? I’m currnetly running 14/44 but think I should be running at least 15/44. Will pm you my details as well.

    Cheers Gaz

    Hi Gaz
I ran 15/44 last time but it was still revving hard on the long fast sections. I would even look at 15/42 if I did it again on the DRZ.

    Thanks Nick,

15/42 it is then. Don’t want my girl working to hard now.

Well Nick and I have had a chat on the weekend and this ride is changing again for what we think is a safer better option for all going also we have had people asking about the dig tree and the extra loop we were doing.

It is better to take the whole group on our loop. (extra time will be added getting to Cameron’s) so it’s an easier 3 day ride from the Ridge to Cameron’s for one and all the benefits of this are,

    – Whole group stays together
    – No chance of one group waiting for an extended period at Cameron’s if the other group has struck problems
    – Mickp’s route as brief as I heard it was up into QLD anyway so when you add the above reasons we may as well stay together

The start place will stay at Lighting ridge, how you get there is your concern. The ride starts from the ridge at 6.30am Sunday the 9th from there everyone going on the ride will ride in the one group, everyone paired.

The people that have confirmed and are going are

    TB
    Nickj

    Boulder
    Fish

    Moose
    Kram

    Mickp
    Lotsa

    Krusty
    Owl 02

    ChrisT
    Bollocks

Basically we will lead a ride from Lighting Ridge to Cameron’s Corner via the Dig Tree and Bore track. There will be a half day off at Cameron’s for services etc ( if it takes you longer than half a day I suggest you get stuck into it the night before rather than drinking ) From Cameron’s it’s back to the finish at ST Alburns. Those having to ride from the finish home like some of us are riding from home to the start take the Monday off after the ride to give yourself some extra travel time.

That’s it, that’s the plan. It’s a great route with something for every rider. The route has now been finalized, everyone is welcome (although it’s full :) )

Reread the first post, make sure you bike is prepared as per the guide lines in the first post

There is still a group riding to the start from Grafton and another group from Sydney and the Central Coast to the ridge for the start. A recommended accommodation location and contact details for the Ridge will be provided soon

There will be no more changes to the route, the first post has been changed to suit the changes

Puddles is out, unable to make it. Strucky will more than likely be forced to miss it also due to personal reasons and we wish him all the best with that, although he will confirm later next week.

Actually Eags I was thinking about this yesterday and thought as we are coming back in from the west to finish you could ride a distance in with us. Will chat next weekend. A thought though is that cause we have added a day getting everyone to the corner we may not get to St Alburns until Sunday which is why I have told everyone going to allow the Monday to travel home.

    Cheers
