Yes agreed, we have spoken on the phone re my earlier post and sorted things out in the main. To be fare to all concerned and I might add that I am not here to complain about the way in which this ride is being organised however, I am doing this for a couple of reasons.
1. Never been there. Either have I
2. Some thing I need to prove to myself that I can do. Why? just front up buy me a Rum and have a good time
3. After last years attempt, I do believe that the others going including myself were invited. Yeah maybe a moment of weakness on my behalf, if I invited you all does that mean I can un invite you
4. I’ve spent to much money on this trip already not to go. Shit you dont even have my bill yet :laugh:Now stop rooting around and get my bike ready will ya. On it captain

I didnt, it will be an adventure but, That may mean some long days, it may take you out of your comfort zone, there maybe sand, mud, animals, cars, drunks, trashy trailer park hoes, hot days, cold nights, rain, sun etc I dont know, but there will be early starts and some late finish days. THERE WILL BE NO NIGHT TRAVEL. Hey and next time just ring me its easier  :laugh:i’m gunna miss them “trashy trailer park hoes”

I only have 10 inbound channels available so some people with have to dial in together. I will dial in with Krusty from his place so if any others can dial in together, let me know.

I think I’ll need a few black cans too before that sand ( it seemed to make it easier last year ) !!!

September 18, 2011 at 2:10 pm #208673Got a bit of maintenance done on the Tenere for this ride
New brake pads front and rear
New wheel bearings and seals front and rear
New sprockets
Next is new ultra heavy tubes , new tyres , new chain , grease linkage and headset , check all nuts and bolts and oil and filter change !
September 18, 2011 at 2:48 pm #199617Gentls,
I have done a bit more sniffing around for Sat phones this morning and as it turns out, one of our business partners has them for both sale and hire. After speaking with them, we agreed on a price of $160.00 total for both units. No No, not a typo, that $80 bucks each. Pick them up Thursday afternoon and drop them back some time on the Monday when we return.
$16 bucks a head. F*%K I’m clever.

Let me know what you think of the Supersprox Sprockets when you return Nick,
I am going with those on the 690 next (Camerons Run should be a good test)Cheers
September 18, 2011 at 8:10 pm #209130I’ll let you know Eagle , by all reports they’re a good thing!
TB is also running one so it will be a good comparisonSeptember 18, 2011 at 9:14 pm #209131I have been running two of them since 2006 Eags, I have a 50 and a 48 I use on the XR, the 48 has done the 4 day (I dont have my log book here, but) I think last check around 5,000kms of singles and trails etc It has seen 2 chains and 4 front sprockets.
They are good kit, not as good as Chain Gang but almost. Chain Gang dont do Tenere ones yet but when they do I will use them

September 21, 2011 at 12:01 am #199618Ok,
EO9D’s front and rear with UHD tubes fittted and balanced today thanks to Scotty at Sutto’s. Paid for my fuel bladder, just waiting for it to arrive. Bought new Pro Rider Gel Grips and managed to fit the left hand side however, the throttle side is proving to be a pain in the arse. I can’t get the origional DRZ shitter off. Spoke with the All Mighty 1 and he has suggested that I cut the bastard off with a razor blade or similar. Tomorrow nights job now. After that, pack the bags and off we go.
