So the new Tenere needs a run as such so a few of us are heading out to Cameron’s Corner this Oct. The plan is to leave Condobilin on Monday the 11th of Oct and return 7 days and 2600kms later

A lot of planning has already gone into the trip. Plan is to pub stay most night plus a couple of working station overnight stays. But will carry a sleeping bag and a can of fully loaded just in case we have an unplanned overnight stay.

The trip will take us through Ivanhoe, Menindee, Copi Hollow, Broken Hill, Silverton, Mt Gipps Eldee, Pine view station, Pimpara Lake Station, Pincally station, Tipooburra, Sturt National Park and then Cameron’s Corner. The way back we havent worked out yet.

There are only 4 of us going at this stage and we are waiting to hear back from a couple of others that are interested. We are looking for a couple more, really only want about 8 guys max. Longest fuel leg is 310kms, longest planned day is around 440kms

If you are interested please PM me

Well it seems at this time we have an almost full crew for the ride and today we had a get together with most of us to discuss the ride. We have a itinerary that will be tuned and accommodation things to sort out but its looking good. There is the possibility of a support vehicle going now that we would meet up with every night so we may have a few camp outs :woohoo:

Thanks to the guys for coming down for the meeting today

(bloody hell it was cold this morning on the bike down through Dural  )

I must have too much time on my hands. Here is another link from ADVRIDER about 2 guys that travelled through Camerons Corner and some of the problems they encountered.
Cant wait for the trip :woohoo:

As asked elsewhere a few details of the trip. We will one way or another have a support vehicle on the trip which changes the whole trip as we don’t need to shorten or lengthen days to make accommodation. Pep it seems is very interested in taking his four wheel drive with a celebrity chef would you believe

How would this work you ask, well each of us riding would pay $100 to have our gear (swag, bag, food and drink) carried. At the start of each day we would arrange a meeting place for that afternoon at worst although I am sure we would be meeting for lunch or the sites each day somewhere.

We are arranging the hire of a satellite phone for safety / emergency use, I have UHF radios with ear pieces and push to talk setups for the lead and sweep rider. If we are travelling well ahead of the support vehicle we will be able to leave messages at roadhouses etc for the support vehicle if there are any changes. The support vehicle will also allow Krusty and anyone else going that wish to do an oil change the ability to choose where rather then at a fixed location. Every rider will also need to carry gear for an overnight stay track side un-supported, meaning sleeping gear and tucker.

We will meet at Condobolin on Sunday the 10th of Oct for pre ride drinks and may stay at a pub. Moose and I are riding out on the Sunday if we can get our gear out there with someone driving out. The route is the same to Silverton where we will be taking a different route to originally planned as it looks as though Boulder may have secured access to a massive section of country not normally open to the public.

Once at the corner it will be mainly work it out as we go sort of thing on the return trip as we can stay anywhere. (I would like to think it’s possible to go out and back to Innamincka maybe I haven’t really thought about it) The plan is to be back at Condobolin on Sunday the 17th. We have capped the numbers at 8/9 for the ease of management and the support vehicle being able to carry the swags/tents, couple of eskies, BBQ and the celebrity chefs utensils (and heaven forbid a broken bike :( ) If anyone is still interested please PM me for a reserve spot or something who knows

For Krusty, Moose (as they asked) and anyone else going here are the sort of loops for the rear of the bike. Remember we need to carry our daily tools, spares, and gear for an emergency overnighter

These range from $500 odd to around $290 I think but Mal will be able to clear that up

I will speak with Mal and Sutto to organise a deal for us to get a bulk buy deal for our tyres, loops or any gear for the ride. (maybe even better then normal  ) I will give them a user name list ;) Between Moose and Lotsa we will be able to get it all delivered ;)

    Stay posted

Sorry Krusty, but I am way to happy about being on the trip to feel bad about the tank!!

No, I do feel bad mate , when I offered it I thought the ride was full and I had no chance of going.

That mojave 10.5L will do fine mate when you consider you can strap your tent or sleeping bag across the top and you wear a decent size camelback and your tools in your bumbag. I reckon it will shit it in, plus its half the price and the extra weight on the back ;)

And come on tell Nickj and let him of the hook

As tb has said it would be great for you guys to get up to Innamincka.
    Innamincka
    DSC01779.jpg
Where you will also see this
    DSC01777.jpg
The main road from CC to Merty Merty is sweet with huge hard packed dunes you hit at over 100kph at times as you crest you can’t even see down the other side.
Then if you go up the old Strzelecki track you will see a few of these.
    DSC01783.jpg
Its a shame you guys don’t have more time as Walkers Crossing from Innamincka to the Birdsville track is a top ride.
Start of the walkers crossing track Birdsville End

I’m very envious of you guys wish I had a bike suitable and was coming along.
