They also fit the DR400’s reckon they would be the go for Krusty, Boulder and Nickj if they are going that way. Personally for me and the miles and riding we are doing a screen is a bonus, I have actually put a taller screen on big Ten to reduce helmet buffeting and grip warmers and the rest of the I am getting old and soft accessories

August 9, 2010 at 8:29 am #185469Could I be changed from swag to tent on the list
I went into the camping shop today and found an awesome tent which is smaller and way lighter than a sleeping bag, it needs no pegs and has a bucket base.
Also their was a matress the size of a coke can and as light that ends up 50mm thick with 4 layered compartments to stop the cold or heat from the ground. It can have a fitted sheet with a tech blanket which saves the need for a sleeping bag and is way lighter and smaller. Gold!!August 9, 2010 at 9:08 am #185538Of course Nick. That tent sounds like a ripper any pictures? I reckon I have everything down pat for what I will carry day to day for the emergency overnight if needed. Rode the bike with it all bar the little gas bottle and it seems great. I wasn’t happy until mid ride on Sunday but have come around somewhat.
I expect this thread to start singing with updates, ideas and links now Krusty is laid up for a week

TBI expect I will start thinking about thinking about what I will be taking on the trip.
I do have a short list of things to take though
1 Bike
1 Rider
1 Swag:blush: after that it gets a bit vague. :silly: 😆 :woohoo: :side:
August 9, 2010 at 9:41 am #185542I will pick up the tent on Thursday and I’ll get some pics then, it’s a $780 tent that’s been copied exactly by Black Wolf and it’s $289 from them guys, it’s still much more than I thought I would spend on a tent but it will hopefully be doing lots more trips like this
the mattress however isn’t cheap ($300) but I need a good sleep almost as much as a beer after work!!
I also checked out multi fuel stoves, amazing, they run on any fuel , and as we have unleaded in the bikes I thought it would save on gas. I know Bollocks will be serving gourmet roadkill each day but the stove could be a good back up. !!

August 9, 2010 at 9:48 am #185545serious question and not wanting to hijack..
Nick, what gearing are you running on the DRZ for the trip, I may be doing birdsville next year on my DRZ???
August 9, 2010 at 9:57 am #185546Krusty re-geared his DR for the corner and trialed it on the weekend and was very impressed. He ran 15 / 44

Sweet spot was about 115 but she would take 120-125 before the revs started to concern me..I heard him say his was going to try a 42 I think. 1st gear still seemed low enough as I saw him climb a bank to the road at the Jurds Pub easy enough
Hope that helps Boony, but I thought you were going to the corner next year but if its Birdsville can I come please please please
