Every other night we will camp or if we end up somewhere and jag some accommodation well maybe. Camp on a creek for a wash  maybe pay for a shower at a pub or caravan park whatever
One very important detail
Need to know how many people require parking for their car and trailer for the week we are away asap so they can organise the space.
CheersTB

August 12, 2010 at 9:58 am #185692I spoke with Paul Sinderberry today (bloody nice guy) as a local at Condo he had a coupe of suggestions for our ride. He said that we will need 350km fuel range to get from Condo to Ivanhoe. Badbowie had spoken about a bridge we may have dramas with I had heard about it, after speaking to Paul its covered. Have been speaking with Boulder regarding some things as well and we will be having a get together in a couple of weeks to organise the final details

August 12, 2010 at 10:00 am #182220TB Won’t be sure about a car and trailer staying until the strange thing gets worked out
Had a chat today with TB about bag.. I also got a message from lotsa checking in about bags as well.. What is everyone doing for bags? Who is buying what? should we try and do some sort of bulk deal with the same and/or separate model bags?
Lets start a list and see who can provide us with a deal eh?
Krusty – Leaning towards the Wolfman Enduro E10 from Adventure moto
Lotsa – Leaning towards the Wolfman Expedition saddle bags and frames package
Nickj – ?? Have you decided? You seemed to be leaning towards Enduro series last time we chatted?
Others???

I have got some of my old road bike soft panniers that my wife thinks she can easily turn into an enduro style throw over bag set , with $10 worth of webbing from Spotlight , if this creation fails I will be buying the wolfman E-10 for sure.
August 12, 2010 at 10:14 am #185780I am planning on using what I have already, either the Aluminium panniers or the Andystrapz expedition Panniers
August 12, 2010 at 11:13 am #185781I’m driving out with mickp so only need parking space for one car and trailer.
Adventure moto are doing the frames and expedition panniers on the DR650 for $600. I’ll ring around and see if anyone can do better. I want to purchase asap.
On a side note the Giant Loop holds 30lt and is a great bit of gear. Saddle bags hold 40lt. The extra 10lt could come in handy.

I’m leaning towards Andy strapz saddle bags, from what I have been told the Wolfman expedition bags are not waterproof??? They look like they shoud be. If you get ahole or cut in the bags you have to glue repair them :S :S
Adventure moto also sells Andys gear, so could probably do a deal with them if we all buy at the same time. I’m ready to buy whenever.Mick
August 12, 2010 at 1:39 pm #185829I must be losing my mind, I don’t have the andystrapz expedition panniers, I thought I bought some on line the other night but only bought straps, waterproof overgloves and a light weight balaclava. I may still get some though, I have been reading about problems with the Aluminium panniers in the soft going and getting your heals caught under them as you try and paddle your way out of the sand or mud. Maybe keep them for on road or more moderate rides and get the soft ones for the other stuff. The other advatage of soft panniers is they expand and flex to suit what you stuff into them instead of the other way around.
I spent over $1000 bucks on bike stuff between midnight and sunrise the other night, I think I need a job that keeps me away from the internet

Not that I think you will drop it Jeffro

Yeh, your’e right TB – being on night shift does tend to confuse one as Jeffro is finding. I confused it with Vince Strang’s, he has both types of bags on his site :S
I’m going to bed now :silly:Mick
