Thanks heaps for the park TB , much appreciated ,
I just read the last link on the desert ride, what a top trip , this is a very similar route in sections to the 2012 ride I was talking to you about. Looks awesome don’t it
August 20, 2010 at 10:12 am #186268Read this one 1983 on old BMWs
Seems our supported Camerons trip is as soft as a ride to the shops in a chauffeur driven Rolls Royce

I just bought a new bracket for my GPS , actually I bought a few goodies for the Weestrom, Radiator guard, higher front guard, Andystrapz and the waterproof overgloves, just got to fit them. The waterproof overgloves are the go in rain, I was sceptical till I tried them. 2 weeks of rain touring Tasmania they were brilliant when used in conjunction with heated grips.
A kiwi I work with told me after I’d bought mine they are made/wholesaled in NZ & they are cheaper to buy them direct rather than through Andy.

August 22, 2010 at 7:02 am #186266Well as things have worked out I have just per run 90% of the actual route from Condo to Broken Hill in the Indian Pacific
. I logged the the trip in the new Garmin and have to say when the sun came this morning and the route presented itself I was frothing at the window. It will be an amazing ride the route following the line from Menindee was awesome, it drops in and out os sandy dry creek beds, rises, fast straights, sand, off camber corners just an amazing step on the pegs and wheel it ride.
I checked out a pub in the hill and have an idea of running to the border towards SA before heading up to Silverton as the ride looks phat
I will post some photos later in the week but I got say if I was excited before I am more excited now

August 24, 2010 at 12:43 am #186301Bollocks has organised a Satellite phone for the support vehicle and as we maybe separated by a fair distance at times I reckon the bikes should have one as well
I have looked into the hire of a Satellite phone and this appears to be the best deal. We can hire it from Sydney and send it back from White Cliffs etc if we want.
A levy of $15 to $20 per rider will cover hire and freight back of the phone if that’s OK with everyone?
