When I bought the bike I got a spare seat so OWL02 went to chat with an upholsterer for me armed with some combined thinking, photos of an approximate result and a little imagination on the upholsterers part.. $132 dollars later we have what I’m hoping will be a magic seat..
As soon as OWL02 finds himself a beat up used seat I reckon he will transform his too.. :woohoo:
I will take photos when it is in my hands tomorrow and give a full report after the long ride this weekend.. A 460+ Kilometer test..
August 24, 2010 at 11:17 am #186400Saw this ride report on Offroad explorer tonight. A trip to Camerons corner cut short by wet weather.
Some photos of the rail maint. track we will be travelling.
Hope we get better weather than these guys.http://www.offroadexplorer.com/Forum/viewtopic.php?f=24&p=9825#p9825

August 24, 2010 at 1:02 pm #186401Great idea that seat idea Krusty, wonder who told you about that and suggested that eh smart guy I reckon, did he show and explain it in your garage while he had a bundy
August 24, 2010 at 8:23 pm #186423I have been thinking of something similar myself. I have a mate who does fibrglassing and was thinking of getting him to make a seat pan that is a bit wider than normal and that I use to help grip the bike with my knees and at the same time more comfortable. Although the DRZ seat is pretty comfortable compared with some KTM and BMW seats I have sat on.
August 24, 2010 at 9:11 pm #186428I have completed mapping the route included are extra loops, short cuts, extensions etc. I will tidy it up this evening and
e mail it to those going. I have done it on Shonky mapsTB

I already knew what I wanted as I had many conversation with someone in the US which is what the seat I now have is modeled on..

All you need is a standard DRZ seat base the foam is designed to be wider and taller and attached to the standard base just fine.. Have a look at mine on Saturday..

August 25, 2010 at 12:02 am #186435All jokes aside,
this is in the news today.
Three trail bike riders are back on the road after spending two cold nights bogged in outback Queensland. The trio became bogged on a track near Nappa Merrie, near the Queensland-South Australian border on Sunday.
Police said a passing motorist found the woman and two men on Tuesday and raised the alarm.
Officers arranged for a helicopter to rescue them but by the time it arrived on Tuesday afternoon, the group had freed themselves.
“The chopper pilot located the riders safe and well, gave them some food and water and the three continued on their journey,” she said.
The riders had been heading to Innamincka in South Australia.
just some trivia.
