August 30, 2010 at 8:03 pm #186758This route is above all of my expectations , I thought their would be a lot of back tracking but it’s new ground the whole way. Excellant
It’s going to make the next few weeks work hard to face knowing what’s ahead, can’t wait !!!
August 31, 2010 at 10:27 am #186761There has been a route change
well its not all
its still
really. The section we had got access to more or less is on the wrong week sort of thing. Its a little change, I think the new route will be better though. The new route has been put together now and I will e mail edition II now.

August 31, 2010 at 11:10 am #186781Thanks for the update, the route still looks tip top to me !!
August 31, 2010 at 11:20 am #186785I have contacted Pine View station this evening to see if we can purchase fuel there to top up our tanks between Broken Hill and Camerons. The support vehicle will have 3 Jerry cans as a back all trip but it will be needed between topping up at Pine View and Camerons Corner.

August 31, 2010 at 11:18 pm #186788Here worth a look, its 6 or 7 post down http://www.advrider.com/forums/showthread.php?t=212063&page=11
Andyz Strapz Panniers
I’m not using them so it’s time for them to go.Two complete sets (yep, two) of
Andyz Strapz Expedition panniers (retail $330)
Pair of Andyz liner bags (one red one blue – for organisation purposes) (retail $30 each)
Pair of Pacsafe exomesh 55 liners (these are great – fit your gear into the liner bags, put the exomesh over them and put the lot ino the panniers, you can then lock them to your bike and not worry about your gear in front of the pub, etc) (retail $120 each)
Total cost per set when new: $330 + $60 + $240 = $600. How does $300 per set sound?
All in excellent nick – only used for one run – panniers are a bit dusty but tht’s it.
Located in sunny Canberra.

Well I received a fast reply from Pineview Station here below
Dear GregThank you for your enquiry, yes we do have fuel here that can be purchased @ $2/litre
We can also offer accomodation, shearers quarters @ $15 /head if you wish, I have also done meals for groups travelling through if you are interested, I do need advance notice though.Just wondering which way you may be arriving from as the ride through Silverton from Broken Hill is quite interesting as is the one along the Corona road past Mt. Gipps.
Also I can recommend a few places further North of us for accomodation/etc if you would like.(Theldarpa Station, Cameron Corner)Cheers
Jen
I will reply with our route and see if Jen has some ideas. $2 a litre I actually thought it would have been dearer to tell the truthTB
September 2, 2010 at 10:37 am #186864Nickj as per our discussion today here is how I have mounted the UHF where I can use it safely. I will have an ear piece with a push to talk button on my camelback strap to use with my left hand whilst riding

September 2, 2010 at 12:26 pm #186869They sound like good people at Pine view station, I can’t imagine what price I would pay for fuel if I thought I was going to run out in that area and it would be a lot more than 2 bucks! That was a nice positive response
your cockpit is looking like a fighter pilots TB
it’s going to be hard for you to remember to look were your going with that lot all lit up.
I am surprised how well it all mounts though, it looks well laid out and usable . -
