The support vehicle will have 3 Jerry cans as a back all trip but it will be needed between topping up at Pine View and Camerons Corner.TB
Well I received a fast reply from Pineview Station here below
Dear GregThank you for your enquiry, yes we do have fuel here that can be purchased @ $2/litre
We can also offer accomodation, shearers quarters @ $15 /head if you wish, I have also done meals for groups travelling through if you are interested, I do need advance notice though.Just wondering which way you may be arriving from as the ride through Silverton from Broken Hill is quite interesting as is the one along the Corona road past Mt. Gipps.
Also I can recommend a few places further North of us for accomodation/etc if you would like.(Theldarpa Station, Cameron Corner)Cheers
Jen
I will reply with our route and see if Jen has some ideas. $2 a litre I actually thought it would have been dearer to tell the truthTB
Sounds good, a decent? bed and shower would be good on occassions.

Hey Jeffro are you carrying your swag for an emergency overnight stay everyday?
Its a good looking setup there mate real nice
Did you get your tyres for it yet?
TB[/quote]
I was thinking I might keep the swag with me for emergencies, and no, no tyres yet. There were some other things he was ordering for me too but I can’t remember what they were. The Biketique (is that right) barkbusters I got haven’t been fitted yet either, the bar end mounts are too big to fit in my bars. I was thinking of changing the bars anyway but will have to try a few out to see what will be comfortable, definately nee to be a bit higher though.

Quote:Nickj as per our discussion today here is how I have mounted the UHF where I can use it safely. I will have an ear piece with a push to talk button on my camelback strap to use with my left hand whilst ridingTB
I use to use this setup so we could comunicate amongst each other, I have a few sets of UHF Radio’s with push to talk buttons with the ear piece that mounts in the helmet, I would hand them out to a couple of guys when we went riding, (don’t do it anymore) lead & tail man had one. I just kept the UHF in my top pocket thought it was easier than mounting it.

September 3, 2010 at 5:09 am #186899Well my B&B rear rack arrived today and has solved all my luggage problems, I had an issue with the saddlebags being to close to the exhaust or too close to my legs when standing. With the rack fitted it allows me to move the bags back and its wide enough to leave plenty of room from the pipe
The picture below is with everything I will be taking on this trip loaded on the bike , and after a test ride and a couple of jumps to try and shake it off I can say its a success
The only thing that will be different is the tie downs will be replaced with Andy Strapz, their will be an air hawk and screen.
The saddlebags have clothes and toiletries in one side and camping stuff ,spares, waterproofs and thermals in the other
The rear waterproof bag has tent, sleeping bag, mattress, pillow and seat
September 3, 2010 at 10:34 pm #186901Tough gig sitting here in the lounge room, the bike is on the back deck still fully loaded from the test run teasing me still looking like this
I wish this ride would get here, although there is another heap of rain out there at the moment which will see road closures again.
Spoke with Boulder yesterday and we will have the next catch up / planning meeting soon

Hi Nick,
the load looks nice and compact. Lotsa and I both have the small cruiser air hawks which work greatThey taper in at the front and dont get in the way at all when standing and working on the bike.
Have you got photos of the super tent and gear yet.
Lotsa got one of the screens from the link that was posted earlier, but I’m not sure what he thinks about it at the moment. I think he was going to adjust it to see if it worked better.Mick

Hi Mick
I have ordered an air hawk and a screen from suttos so hopefully thats the comfort side of things taken care ofBelow are a few pictures of the tent, its very light and compact with the poles all joined together to make it easy to put up. It has a bucket floor which means no pegs are needed and its ideal for camping on sand
September 4, 2010 at 2:08 am #182233To give you some idea of how it gets out there when its wet!! This picture was taken after driving just 28k’s on a wet road.
Dont worry Bollocks we will give you a hand to wash the camper when we get back to condo.
