Mickp – Something from his growing stable
Moose – A rebuilt “ol Burple”
Krusty – XR or a DR
Lotsa – DR650

Pep Driver
Bollocks Celebrity chefWell thats the list updated. Muc-Off Mike reluctantly withdrew today as he wont be able to have his TT600 finished in time
We have a neat 8 riders, we have decided to just leave the group at that
Everyone going has given their shirt size and will receive a commemorative limited addition Polo shirt and we will also have some stickers made
I ordered Moose’s tyres and E10 loop style bag for his bike today. Mick is getting on the job with Ol Burple very soon. Boulder is getting organised, Jeffro had a couple of nice tyres sitting at Sutto’s last week. My tyres, bearings, brake pads and levers are in stock

September 14, 2010 at 9:52 pm #187411I spoke with Mal on Thursday arvo last week and asked him to send the tyre up, arrived home at lunch time on Friday and the tyres were already there. The Veestrom is in having the suspension done to I thought I would be lazy and take the tyres there to be fitted but they weren’t interested in it so I guess I will have to do then myself after all
. Anyone had experience fitting tubless tyres or have any tips.

I over came this by removing the valve and screwing a air hose straight on the valve. Then building the compressor up to full pressure and opening the tap quickly. Once the tyre was beaded I removed the hose fitted a valve and inflated the tyre.
You could also go to a better customer service orientated bike shop
Have you got a tubeless puncture repair kit Jeffro? I saw them the other week at Sutto’s gees makes repairing tubeless leaks look easy :cheer:

September 16, 2010 at 9:43 am #187470Picked up my new wheel bearings today. Seems a shame to change perfectly good bearings and seals but at least I can make sure they are packed full of grease for the trip and not have to worry about them.
I will service the forks before the trip as well. I’ve already done all the swing arm & linkages and had the shock serviced recently. New chain, sprockets & back tyre are ready to fit after a ride on the long weekend before we leave.
Waiting for my new MSC under bar steering damper to come so I can fit that and check/grease the steering head bearings. :woohoo:
Its all coming togetherCant wait, how many more sleeps to go.

Yeh,
the guys at B&B Offroad were fantastic. They have a rack that they make for the 690 but it is smaller and has an upright section welded to it that I did not want. I saw a larger rack they had made for a guy on Advrider but it was huge, so I drew up the size i wanted and emailed the info to them for a quote on Monday. Tuesday they replied and I said go ahead about 3pm that arvo. Wed. 1pm I got an email from them saying the rack was ready. I could not believe it. So I rang them up and paid them the $200 over the phone and had it home in the mail on Friday.
You cannot ask for better than that. Chris from B&B was the guy I dealt with and he was excellent.
Very happy with the rack :woohoo:Mick
September 17, 2010 at 9:51 am #187482Well more gear turned up today, the postie and I are almost best mates now  The last of my Andy Strapz gear fronted
Two more Andy flat strapz, a double open ended dry bag for the back rack, 2 “D” straps, two pannier bag dry liners and an amazing light weight knife and fork set. The set is made from aircraft alloy and its sooooo light
Crash also made a mod to my Mal5.1 racks, cheers both Mal5.1 and Crash
He cut and mounted a alloy plate each side to support the bags a little better
I also got a ride in this arvo after work
to test the reserve fuel range. The light normally comes on around 300kms and the book said reserve is 6.5 litres. Today I did just shy of 160kms with the fuel light flashing  This should give me a range of around 460kms + or say a safe 400kms in hard going.
