Sorry Nick I went to bed early after being on the phone all night  Its a 5% chance of rain that week we are there and the week before its 0%

Thanks Boony that is reassuring as thats what I had been told, I have been watching the rain in QLD for the last week and they have been getting plenty but its been on the eastern, middle and up the top of QLD. I have been watching it and worrying for nothing now it seems. I spoke with Shaws transport allocator on Monday and they are still running double and triple road trains all up through there with no drama on the main roads through all of outback QLD. St George is 700 + kms as the crow flies from where we are going
He gave me some contact names and numbers and I spoke with a guy at the Innamincka Hotel last night, he said and I quote. “There has been nothing in the way of rain at Camerons or south where you blokes are going for weeks” “Conditions are near perfect although the roads are a little rough in spots” I asked what about the rain they had been happening in QLD this week and he said “Thats Queensland mate and its up the top and to far east to worry you blokes” and he finished with “Mate you guys are what 2 weeks away from getting here (laugh) we could be in bloody dought again by then”

The only area we are going to give a miss is Tilpa (top middle of NSW) there is water laying everywhere there at the moment and around there where we were maybe going to come back through when we did an early draft of the route. Thats has changed when we decided to go up through SA and the Strzelecki track now anyway

I will speak with Camerons Corner store today and post what I find out this evening

I spoke to a local farmer today who said whilst watching the country hour he heard they were begining a 10 day spray progam of locusts out western NSW.

This sounds like great news for us , anyone else heard the same ??

I am mates with our local doctor and decieded it would be a good idea to make an offical appointment and ask his thoughts and advice on our very soon dirt bike trip :woohoo:

His first advice was to take 2 types of anti- biotic on the ride , one for respitory and skin problems and one to combat the sh#ts( not the annoyed type, but the poisoned by bollocks or crap water type)

he also said everyone should have a good heavy bandage in their backpack for 2 unlikely problems( I hope!) , breaks and snake bites.

This vist to Dr. M wasn’t pommie paranoia but prompted by a well travelled mates advice, I have now got some goods drugs that may just return home after the ride but may also make someones day a bit better.

If anyone going feels they want to get some(as I only have enough for 2 doses, although everyone is very welcome to them) too PM me and I will forward the info.

Nick, Moose and I are riding out to Condo. I have been working on a route for the ride out. A route thats interesting and yet will get us there with time to pack and get ready. It has enough dirt and a pub lunch

I will be going via Dubbo, probably leave Saturday and stay overnight then head into Condo on Sunday. It’s a 7.5 hour run if I go straight to Condo, no need to wear my arse out on the first day.

My route here and it has dirt after Dubbo

Do you want to cut some tar out between Tarana and O’Connell TB?

Turn left at Tarana onto Hazelgrove Rd and then right onto Carlwood Rd. It’s all wide hard pack dirt to O’Connell.
