TB have they stopped making them in a 17 or they just aren’t available at the moment?
I know a couple of years back I looked at them for my transalp and they were a 140/80 17.(Michelin size of course)

Mate I am sure they only ever made them in 18’s (but I have been wrong many a time before  )
I havent been able to find a listing worldwide for a 17  I have run them on the XR and I love them
Not great grip just real consistent and wear great good strong side wall puncture resistant
here is a link to the listings http://motorcycle.michelin.com.au/twproduct/findProduct/moreProduct/26 click the size tab

July 22, 2010 at 1:05 pm #184438Must not do them anymore in a 17″
Last year Desert Edge in Alice Springs had a heap of 17″ deserts in stock… and thats what they were trying to sell us when we needed tyres.

A few guys at work are going to Cape York & are looking for a suitable tyre, I’ve read a bit & it seems for the lower price of the T63 you don’t get the longevity of the Desert. For a similar price the 606’s last longer

I have a 606 on the back of the Tenere now, it was days old when I purchased the bike. Its bald as a babys bum now and is around 2400kms old
When the bike gets home soon I will take photos of it. I have bought two 63’s so I will have to get about putting some miles on one of them and see what they will do
. I looked at the Dunlop 908RR but they dont do a 17
The Pirelli scorpion rally looks good as well but again no 17
I will put some miles on some different ones and work something out for the ride and after the ride.

Knew I’d seen 17″ Desert’s somewhere recently, although I don’t believe they are worth this much.
A local Husky dealer said he could do 18″Deserts for $160ish in the lead up to Finke
TB, a 908rr is over rated & over priced, you can buy 3 606’s & have change

The 908 over rated over priced doesnt matter like I said no 17’s
. $160 for a desert is good buying, will chase the 17’s up.
Cheers

July 23, 2010 at 12:14 am #184428M21 good tyre choice for long wear and good for dual purpose 2000ks or more no worries

and the rest of their stuff is more expensive then where I buy anyway. No service no
saleJuly 23, 2010 at 7:20 am #184468I totally agree TB , I rang my local shop my local bike shop yesturday and asked if they had any idea of the spring sizes that they put on my new Drz over a year ago so I could let Tekniks know.
Within 20 minutes she rang back with name, manufacturer and part number, fully knowing if was for another person to do the work.I go back time and time again because of that service.
