My riding is almost criminally cheap once I got the right suppliers for bits ‘n pieces, and honestly would be worried about buying a 250/450 Hi-Po 4T for impact it would have on our lifestyles budgetary needs.

July 8, 2009 at 10:40 am #142754if they release the yz250wr two stroke with rego put me down for one fuel range and top speed may be a problem but 530 is very versatile
July 8, 2009 at 10:49 am #142756Fuel range is an issue at times, but the top speed has a fix, 02 on WR426/450 true wide ratio gearboxes slide straight in with a minor case mod, some yank dealers do it on request for customers and deduct the price of the close ratio clusters. The YZ250 has a huge cult following in the USA for hare and hound and S/T abilities. The motor is probably the most responsive one ever built, power everywhere on tap all the time from 1500 up to 9500rpm, and can be tuned to place more where you want it for sweet FA.
Mine anihilates 450’s off the bottom end in the low gears.

I have found the Caltex revtec semi synthetic a good oil and also Penrite fully synthetic but its $24 a litre:angry:

Choppers was a bit of a different case, it was ex police bike that it turns out was lacking some filter maintenance when we found out whom had been looking after it.
It required two inlet valves, not normal for a DRZ thats for sure and cheaper than a gasser gearbox
Dont panic Mototrans clean your air filter every ride sort of or there abouts and change your oil every 500kms or there abouts and you wont see a bike shop for a bloody long time

No denying it DRZ’s are as reliable a bike you could get,Ive got one as well remember, but every time you say something about being good so far it inevitability turns to sh#t:laugh:
Gasser gearbox was only $800 including labour, not bad I thought and I could have done it cheaper if I didnt get the full gasket kit:dry:
