If you want the smell of R30, with the benefits of todays technology, Silkolene top o’ the line 2T oil is the best stuff out there, I only changed after getting hold of some Mobil, doesn’t smell as good, but lubricates as well and burns cleaner.

July 16, 2009 at 11:49 am #144053in a 4T if just for aroma therapy i’d try some of the R/C nitro premix stuff, and i’m being that it has a hypnotic smell to it i’m assuming/guessing it’s castor based too.
might try some in the old man’s yami ag and see what results:silly:
from what i can read up on castor in R/C stuff the castor gums up less?
just read this
http://www.perthstreetbikes.com/forum/f64/two-stroke-oil-discussion-64912/
interesting stuff indeed.

August 7, 2009 at 8:46 am #144226Just a bit of avation history on Caster Oil for any one who’s interested. In World War 1 the british developed a raidial aircraft engin call’d a “Nome”, put it in a now famous plain call the “Sopwith Camel”It did well shootin down the Jerry’s.Anyway the cylinders of the engin spun around the crank & pistons insted of the other way round,a cooling inovation, you could’nt have oil in the crank case so they had a sistem where the oil was injected into the crank then blown back out unburnt,so it was caster oil they used.Thats one reason why the airmen used to ware long scavs round there necks so they could wipe the oil of there gogles with it.So Caster Oil has bin in engins for a wile now.

August 7, 2009 at 12:29 pm #147425You Blokes do know back in your Mums’ day castor oil was given by the teaspoon full to “loosen” things up in the exhaust area don’t you?
use too much Menace and you might loose traction in the “mud”, wear some rubber undies my friend, ask Boony he would have several pairs I’d say, hanging up with his catwoman suit and whips.
BTW the last bike i pulled down that had been running Silkolene Comp had a beaut film of oil all over the bottom end, something everyone likes to see when checking out the bottom end of their smoker.
