dudes, when i was a younger fella, all the “sic” blokes ran castrol R30 in thier smokers. it was the ducks guts, apparently.
ive also got a mate that still runs it in his 125 GP bike.
is this still the case or have synthetic oils taken the reigns.
basically, can i/should i run it in my 300. or are the “new” smokers too highly strung.
or have the metals used changed from the old days and has that made R30 obsolete.i ask because…..
i love the smell of it…its sweeeet as:laugh:
its half te price of the motorex stuff (and sold at supercheap) i use (as recommended in by the KTM dealer)what do yous reckon??

I think technology has taken over from it mate and its better to use synthetic

I might just get a bottle for Taylah’s PW80 and relive old times.:laugh:Mick dont use it in the auto oiler if its connected, you have to mix it yourself, I used to use it when I raced karts, had to drain what you didnt use as it doesnt store well and causes problems in high performance engines when reused, so used to drain and use in the mower and whipper snipper :woohoo:

Same deal in the kart i used to run i also tryed to use leftover fuel in lawn mower and chainsaw but same deal coulnt leave any in the tank

April 25, 2009 at 2:56 am #130555I’m running CASTROL POWER 1 TTS RACING 2 STROKE OIL @ 50:1 in my EXC300 (06 mdl), $75 odd bucks from supercheap, buy it on the end of year sale day get it less 20%.
bike has been dynoed on it and is running Sweeet -
