Not much I can say that hasn’t already been said. It was great to get out in the ‘back of beyond’, seeing some great country in a different light – water water everywhere, the mist, the fog, the wildlife – just brilliant. I had a ball.
The roll call was 100%. Nobody even considered ringing to see if it was still going ahead – we all just wanted it to and knew it would – unspoken enthusiasm.
Good experience to ride in such conditions! Watching the terrain change colour and consistency, learning which type is ‘slipperyist’ (if that’s a word), where you can brake hardest, how to twist on throttle ever so gently etc, etc. Top stuff.

    Shorts:

*Thanks Ghostrider for arranging the secure starting spot. (No thanks for keeping the Superman seat grab into the creek (without the seat grab bit) to yourself and a small number of witnesses.

*Great to meet and be face to face with people I’ve only met ‘literature-ally’ (Poor attempt at a English joke that probably doesn’t make sense). Mal5.1, MickG, Superunit, Menace, LC4 & Gotcha – genuine fellas. And good to see the old crew too.

*The poor Wallaby on the road to Wombeyan Caves. He obviously went left instead of right at that rock high up above….that first step was a beauty! Rip buddy.

*The fox that joined TB and me up front. He stayed on the track in front of TB for over half a kilometer. Wouldn’t have believed it if it hadn’t have happened in front of me. (yes, he was in Fox gear!)

*The COLD COLD COLD COLD COLD Creek at Dingo Dell.

*The torrent that was Komung River. Like I said, I would have taken a Dakar race Truck through there!

*The 60km dash to get Chop at Kanangra Walls. (Tear in my eye as I passed the ‘not to be ridden Poo Track’ ……twice!!!) – we’ll get there one day……..then you’ll see why it’s called what we call it!

*See TB actually separate from his bike unintensionally. Some might call it a droooo……..droooooo……….drooooo….drop!!

*Living out the scene from ‘Armageddon’ – you know when the meteorite is exposed to the sun and rocks just start bombarding the space ship…….that’s what riding behind TB all weekend was like…….ask my 3rd shattered headlight, the cut bridge of my nose from rock contact with my goggles that punched the lense from the frame and the numerous bruises!!!! – worth every bit of it to see the big unit in action.

*My brain explosion………drowning Mal5.1 when he parked next to a large puddle on the Sunday return. I don’t know what the hell I was thinking. A big SORRY Mal.

*Moto on Saturday night………what can I say….ah to be 30 again. My body doesn’t repair itself like it use to…be it self inflicted or accidental injury. I don’t know how you do it brother.

*MickG and Motos’ pool sharking on Saturday night. (Motos introduction to ‘Aussie rules’ Remember Moto, your half Aussie now!

*Dr D’s all or nothing 40km/ph attempt to cross the creek at Dingo Dell. Lesson 1: KTM300’s with their big open Air boxes are made for racing NOT deep creek crossings!!!

*In the Dictionary, next to the word ENTHUSIASM, you’ll see a picture of Menace….What a supreme effort. It makes the rest of us feel pretty unique that you thought we were worth dedicating 3 or so days of your life away from Sammy, just to ride with us…..A grade commitment OB brother.

*Winding out the big girls (fiddys not Tracy/Kylie)……….yeehaa!

*Helping out fellow bike enthusiasts in distress.

*The quiet beer back in town on the way home

*Kylie & Tracys’ never say die performances on the Yamys.

*Chops solo effort to keep us fuelled & supplied. Invaluable.
    Thanks Champ

*Sliding ‘round the ‘wiggly’ road on the run home in pursuit of TB.

*Team OB singing the 43 year old happy birthday on Saturday night.
    Thanks Gang

    On ya Crash,
That`s the most I`ve seen heard ya talk ( or :P type)
You are one of the quietest yet one of the nicest blokes I have ever met,,,,
Pleasure to ride & hang out with you again, may there be many more in the years to come with OBT;) ;) ;)

    well, well, well,

    what a weekend it was…..

im gonna start from the beginning and mumble my way through the memories and other flashbacks of one of the best weekends of my life:)

its gonna be a long’n, so get your selves a drink:laugh:

    friday:
after a shocking 12 hour trip, with hundreds of kms of roadworks and torrential rain and eventually winding my way up a road that made me wonder if i was ascending up to some evil castle in the clouds, i managed to find the “chateau TB”. (i love my tom-tom)
i mosied up to the door and was met by a man with a grinning goatee. with some flowers for the ever smiling Salina and some rumski for the big man i entered the palace and met our feerless support driver chopper….who looks nothing like his avatar and smells nice too:P we hopped in to a couple of drinks and soon the bulls started piling in.

the mighty Ds, moto, tracy and champo, mal5.1, test-eagle, chris and tiny. it was great to meet everyone and this old bull felt welcomed by all.:) a relief i tell yas!!

more drinking, nibbling, yakking and pizza eating ensued followed by more drinking, yakking and cheesecake eating. (it was divine Sal)
some videos were put on …that were a bit blurry by this time:silly: and then we all hit the sack. i managed to leave one drink in my bottle of scotch so i would have a reason to come back to the OBT headquarters in the future;) im not silly:laugh:
apparently i was snoring loudly but it couldnt have been to bad as it didnt wake me up:laugh:

    saturday:
at some silly time in the morning we were all awoken for a coffee and a double berroca. bikes were loaded and we were on our way…..through more torrential rain!!
my car was aquaplaning there was so much water. it sobered me up quicksmart:woohoo:
we collected mal (almost literally) from the side of the freeway as he had snuck off to pick up gotchya and headed to mittagong.
a stop for a much needed bakery feed, and we met everyone else up the road and proceeded to the farm.

unloaded the bikes and prepped up. other old bulls were introducing them selves to me. a bit overwhelming for a shy fella like myself:laugh:  it was great!!! crashes “badboy bubby” boot sealing technique was a crack up too:laugh:
soon we were off into the unknown.

the cliffs on the first track/road were a bit daunting for this hungover spidy and after 5 minutes my nuts were already so wet that even the squirrel wouldnt eat them!!, through my plastic pants and all. another sobering moment:laugh:
a quick splash of motion lotion and we roosted into the bush. very slippery bush i might add!!
i hadnt ridden with that many people in years, it was great.

we hit a great track with some fun erosion mounds and came to our first creek crossing.
i think crash had some big balls for stripping down to his “reg grundys” to feel the crossing out…..but was carrying them in his throat upon his return:laugh:  his voice seemed higher than normal for the rest of the weekend;)
DrD hit the river hard and drowned his kato, crazy pr!ck…it taught me a lesson about deep water and 300s, they dont mix:laugh:  crash cruised on through it but i suspect he had locked his sphincter onto his airbox and let the bike breath through his mouth:laugh:  bloody XRs, theyre unstoppable beasts!! then he made it back again, no such luck for the Doctor, he gurgled it on the return trip too:(
we all retreated up the same track which was more fun than going down it:) :woohoo:
lots more bloody cold, bloody wet road riding and we all made it to the jenolan caves unscathed. the test eagle had a fleeting thought of flying down to the caves, only to be stopped by a well placed fence…(the only bit of fence that wasnt as ricketty as an asian bamboo scaffold luckily) it ruffled his feathers a bit but he was still chirpy:laugh:

the caves were great, well what i saw of them, and the handdryers in the tiolets were to die for too.
the straz and sauce sangers i made in the morning were the best ive ever tasted too!!
cruising thru the cathedral arch thingy was cool. all the tourist looking at us mad buggers was funny too!! ill get back there one day and do the proper tour….i like caves!!

i was freezing when riding up the hill out of the caves but once we got into the single trails that soon changed! getting on to the first ST and stopping to see TB and crash both having a dirt nap was a worry, what had i agreed to??:woohoo:

for me, these trails were the highlight of the weekends riding. they were undiscribably undiscribable. there was rivers running down the tracks. it was leafy, grassy, muddy, loamy, pine-needly, slip-sliding heaven. being so close to a hot shower at the pub, i let the 300 loose and slipped into the zone. it was like wet soggy screaming 2 stroke sex.:woohoo: :woohoo:
i think everyone had a moment of some kind in there as no one was holding back. the slimy hill above the little creek caught a few out. watching “superunit” take the line thru the creek that i was eyeing off and get stuck was a crackup!! i picked another line and amazed myself, having made it thru and up the hill easily. still not sure how i did it:laugh:  but ill claim it:woohoo: :woohoo:
my loins are stirring everytime i think about it:woohoo:

getting to the pub and having a hot shower was like…like…the best shower ever. i could finally feel my “winky” again, as moto would say, and all my other extremitys thawed out too… bliss.

into the pub we all rolled. nice old place, wood fire, alcohol, food…sweet!! everyone was abuzz from the days riding, especially those the took on the ST.
drinks flowed, lots of jacks links were demolished (thanks jacks links;) ) prizes were announced. i was stoked and suprised to win my voucher ($100, thanks suttos) i think i won it for being a super cool bloke, but TB made out it was for me being the furtherest travelled. i read between the lines mate;)  .

some memorable moments from the pub were…..well, drinking piss with all these top blokes that i constantly hang sh!t on, in person finally!!
racing mal5.1 in our own fastest mixed grill eating comp.:P
meeting fathead and lou, bloody nice people. and as mad as each other!!
renaming the “superunit” after listening to his many hilarious tales….he and mickG (aka-fishbone)are very funny dudes.
watching superunit try and “pash” the breatho machine:laugh:  and the “strawlady” coming to his rescue…
LC4skin looking like the human version of peter griffin from the family guy as i got more and more drunk:P
talking the sh!t with DanD, champo (half man half hippie), mal and gotcha, tiny (the beast), ghosty, and well… everyone else too, theres too many to mention….love yas all!!!
TB getting fat head and lou to come up in the rain and then drinking “fire engines” (very refrething he says) and going to bed early like a flaccid member!! bloody woos!!
never feeling left out…with people id just met!
moto….where do i start:P me and LC4skin filling him up with tequila and double vodkas till he couldnt talk anymore:laugh:  he was mangled:P
saving his ar$e from a local bloke after they had decided to play a bit of old school english boxing, punch and judy style after the pub had shut.
i could go on with motos antics for another page or three but im sure some of them would need censoring:woohoo:

im tired and still recovering from the weekend, so ill post the rest tomorra.

ps- ive noticed that all the pictures of me are blurred, its not because im so fast, its because im the spidy menace and no one can ever take my picture……

champo got one but thats when i was being peter parker:P :P

Maybe they spiked it with Rohypnol. Being a KTM rider you wouldn’t know if you were date raped or not.Your bum would have been sore either way.
