Runner Up for Old Bull of the year 2009 – Eagle
Eagle’s nominations included the following; if people take time to read his post he is fairdinkum, and always makes new oldbulls welcome. takes the piss a bit and gives a bit, is keen to participate in rides and organizing, not to mention the 3 he got to sign up after his trip to Nundle and he never even had his bikeOne of the things that made this seem so right is that both Boulder and Eagle secretly nominated each other

Special thanks to the special guest ‘meance’. thanks for making to trip up mate and for the race back along the slippery road, that was just plain good old fashion fun :woohoo: :woohoo:
I’m uploading my photos and videos and will post them soon.
thanks TB & Salina for letting me crash at your place.

Anonymousthis was the only part of dirt road that there was no crowd lining the road to watch moto’s wrx go drifting past
May 25, 2009 at 11:39 am #136035It was another great ride with the OBT crew. Thank you to everyone for a great ride despite the somewhat ‘damp’ conditions. All the photos and footage prove that no matter what the conditions Old Bulls know how to make the best of any situation!
Thank you to TB & Crash for leading the ride, to TB for organising, to all of the guys who were sweeps (esp. Boulder!) and to KylieD, DanD, Eagle, & Champo who were my own little super support crew (these guys were always on hand for that little extra help, watchful eye or encouragement – I guess just being the good friends that they are!).
Also Thank you needs to go out TB & Salina for having us stay (again) on Friday night and to Moto for his excellent transport service (I do believe the bike washing fairies have been – although they weren’t as good as DanD’s magic corner!)
Thank You to Chop for being an excellent support person (I particularly liked your arrival timing on Saturday afternoon at the pub – just when I was really wanting a shower and realised I had no dry clothes – perfect timing!)
A big Thank you to Sutto’s (for my voucher – I will be shopping soon – I already have my list ready!!!), and Scott & Louise from Battye’s Bikes – you guys are awesome to ride up to us in the weather – true biking enthusiasts!!!.
It was great to be able to put some faces to the names and actually get to know some of the people that make OBT, especially finally Menace – you are such a big contributor to OBT and it was good to meet you in person!.
I had a great weekend and am looking forward to doing it all again!
Also thank you to Champo for everything that you do for me, particularly in the bike maintenance area – I really do appreciate it!
One last thing – Happy Birthday Crash for yesterday, hope you enjoyed your day!!!

AnonymousWell what a weekend it was! I’m absolutely buggered but I had an absolutely fantastic time.
So…..
First of all a HUGE thankyou to TB for organising such a great ride. He did a great job of putting it all together.
Also thanks go to TB and Salina for putting us up (or putting up with us) on Friday night. It was greatly appreciated and Salina’s cheesecake was simply exquisite. BTW if you ever go to TB’s take a look at Salina’s oven. It’s well worth it.
I know it was raining, windy, foggy and even icey in parts but I was very appreciative of my wet weather gear (even if I looked like a bumble bee on steroids). Not long after we started off and it was raining and really difficult to see I thought to myself, ‘I’m dry, I’m warm, I’m riding, I’m happy’. It’s all about your state of mind. If you start off thinking ‘This is crap. What am I doing?’ then you probably aren’t going to have such a great time. So just for future thinking, if you are ever on a ride and you’re thinking that it’s crap, then before you think about criticising the organiser or the weather then consider that it could be just that your state of mind wasn’t in a very happy place to start with. Just maybe.
Anyway, thanks to everyone on the ride for their good company. And I really enjoyed meeting Menace even if it wasn’t such a fantastic introduction (well I didn’t know you were really Menace ) . Make sure you tell Sammy that she nearly caused me an accident too. I was getting all excited about the prospect of meeting Sammy at Louee and forgot to brake for a corner. Oops!
Thankyou to Chop for his excellent support vehicle driving. You really are a great guy to do that for all of us. I’ve said it before but if anyone needs a support driver for a ride I am happy to do it too. Remember that.
Thankyou to Tracy for your company and laughs. You rode really well and should be very proud of yourself. Thanks to Champo too for herding us (the heiffers) now and then.
I really enjoyed my ride with Eagle for a time too. I still can’t get over how easy he makes everything look. That man’s got style.
Moto, Moto, Moto, all I can say is
Boulder – you are a legend. Such a nice bloke and you definetly deserved the Old Bull of the Year title.
Last of all thankyou to DanD for keeping an eye out on me during the ride. Although you didn’t need to get so cranky at me for riding so close to the edge that I didn’t see and if I went over would have meant certain death. Bit harsh mate.
He wants me to put in here that he’s an excellent lover but if I tell lies I could lose karma.
And TB – you know you shouldn’t suggest things to me. Once ideas are put into my head I can’t let them go. Good one. We’ll see though, we’ll see.
