    Cells
    24th August 2012

The tamvagusuns travelled over to CELLs for more recon.
Here are some pics of the adventure.
When the pen men ( Snow & Boon) find this hopefully they can add some story..

Snowy had the plan to have a look at a particular trail to establish it was a through trail. He sent a couple of keen volunteers from the top down to see if they could find if it was a through trail. The two volos after going down some pretty steep stuff decided to turn around and ride baack up the hill – here is the result.

Life doesnt come much better than three days riding your favorite trails with a heap of mates and so it was that we headed of to the bush last Friday with the usual stop for food in Walcha but in what was to cause unfortunate repurcussions Boony failed to follow his usual routine and crack an 0800 tinny at the lookout. Got set up and six of us were on the trails by 1130 with the usual Friday activity of hunting down new trails, one of which was just where I had figured and just as bloody steep. We sent down two suckers, Damo and Paul while we kicked back at the top of the hill hoping we would see them again. Just as we were considering abandoning them to their fate my phone rang which is bizzare seeing theres f*** all coverage out there and its Damo on the other end calling to say they were stuck on a sippery steep bit and needed help. While Boony and I wanted to abandon them and ride on Polly insisted we do the right thing and offer assistance as shown in the first lot of Pollys images. Once together we rode on and played on a heap of known singles but failed to find the new ones we suspected to be present.

Boonys failure to follow routine was blamed for two huge getoffs, one by myself when while racing with Damo I discovered my real ability to jump tall trees was well below what I thought it was. The second saw Damo come to grief as he set a record for distance travelled while performing a handlebar handstand at 50 kmh while travelling sideways over slippery clay only 100m from camp. Only a large tree stopped him from completing his dismount perfectly. Shame about those bruises and pain!
Got back to camp to start a great social night with the rest of the crew who gradually rolled in, great effort from Col and Ben to get up from down Botany way. Group concensous on Saturday morning was the need to have the last two cans removed from every carton to avoid hangovers.

Saturdays ride was a sweet 35km singles run to get everyone warmed up and we flicked back to camp to let Damo remove more bits of fridays tree from his bike and his arse. King Bolls thought this was a lunch break so he quickly threw down a full chook, 2kilos of coleslaw and a complete cheese cake while everyone else had a museli bar. The second part of the ride was about 70 k of sweet cells singles that was at its best and with a ten man group of similar ability riders it went by very quickly and smoothly, def’ one of the best rides ever. We threw in a few tricky bits to test every one and the aptly named c*** creek caught most people causing the strapping up shots polly took. Very short sharp pinch straight out of a creek and all of it over orange dog shit clay. Boony followed me straight up but we took away any traction there was causing everyone else grief. The rest of the ride was just pure pleasure but we cut it a bit shorter than planed when there became too many simple get offs, as the group ran out of puff and Beer time was called. Another great night round the campfire as the recycling bin overflowed and filled Damos ute.

Sunday saw some tired stiff bodies so a nice short 40km run through the vines of kokoda and a few other favorites was done and we managed to get everyone through without too significant an injury.

Great ride in trail bike heaven with a great group of blokes it doesntget better.

If you watch Futurama you may have already noticed the similarity between these two characters.

    Hey punters, how they hangin!
Thought I’d tell what I done on the weekend.

I went bike riding. Oh did I mention it was in trail riding heaven!
Cause people like to be seen with me, 10 others decided to come for the weekend. The cool crew for this weekend were as follows.
    Boony ,KTM250 weapon
    Polly ,Massey Ferguson 400
    Snowy, CRF farm bike 250
    Damien, sick sounding kwaka 450
    King Bolls royal corgi 450
Damus TTR round up machine 250
Steve, Cycletune, KTM 2013 250, stole it from his shop.
    Shane, same as Bolls
    Paul, rock chucking KTM 525
Col, see Damien but without the sick sounds.
    Ben 300 ding ding hussy.
Everyone except Steve, bolls, ben and col made it there in time for the Friday session.
Apparently because I broke a long lived tradition Snowy and Damien fell off, I recon it was pilot error. I even took gumby for a lap or two that day.
We covered what felt like 20 million miles of main road looking for some god forsaken quarry that one of the peanuts on the ride recon was there somewhere? Of course we didn’t find it, however we did find the best trail in Australia to lose a few mates on, Damien and Paul were nominated as the sacrificial lambs and over the edge we pushed them. They were gone for ages and then snows phone rang, I answered it and bugger me dead if it wasn’t Damien, I told him to P off and get off the phone because i was trying to hear 2 mates of mine that were lost in the wilderness. When we found them they were actually only 10 feet from us and of course they couldn’t get back up this really slight incline and we had to get off our bums and strap them back up the hill.
We finished off our trail fossicking and headed for the eskies.
The rest of the crew finally had the decency to arrive and we had 1 or 2 ambers. Why is it always that last beer that gives you a cracker of a head ache the next day.
When the next day finally arrived we suited up and set sail on what can only be described as some of the best trails I have ever ridden.
Snow and I shared the lead duties throughout the day and good old Damus kept the crew flowing from the sweep position all day. We did do 1 or 50 challenging little hill climbs and some of these tripped up the big bores on the ride, but the little 2fiddies creamed them all day long.
No real major offs and the boys all said hell yeah when someone mentioned it being beer o’clock.
That night was again hilarious around the camp fire.
The traditional Sunday ride is a wind down ride; I lead the survivors on a sweet little 40 k ride to have a look at some local sites,

I can’t wait for the next ride in trail bike heaven

    Boony
