Well the maiden voyage is done and all went well. It could do with some lower gearing and a braver rider. I would be right in saying Charlie was shitting himself at first. I will let Charlie give his report though.
    Here is the video.

I thought I best add that the damn thing went so well, just like Charlie said it would. This was a disappointment for all us onlookers that were expecting Charlie to eat shit.

Well, it was quite anticlimatical, after everyone telling me it looked like pain on one wheel I was sort of expecting a steel bucking bronco, but after dumping the clutch a couple times I relised the whole thing was quite sedate. I need a larger sprocket on the back and to move the bars back to the rear setting and if thats not enough I’ll raise the front skids a few inches to increase ground clearance a bit.

Charlie, the chain and sprocket set I had in the shed is actually the old road gearing from my XR 600 so the rear sprocket is only a 39 tooth. You are welcome to grab the longer chain though.

Here is a video of the last test run I did on Friday, I changed the rear sprocket from a 45 tooth to a 51 tooth. It really flys, accelerates until you back off the throttle now where before it died in the ass after the first 20 feet.

Believe it or not Charlie has still been dicking around with his unimoto drag bike and has the thing running sweet ready for an assault on the unimoto drags at Dungog next weekend. Yesterday arvo was the maiden run with the new air box and Harley exhaust system on it. Always up for a laugh the family and I headed up to watch. He actually has the damn thing running sweet. First run he ran into the fence as it has no brakes, 2nd run went well. Watch for yourself.

I am highly impressed this is certainly a project and pastime worth watching…
