    The following is actually from a post I put up in ‘honda wins Dakar’ thread

    However I think that others may want to contribute or disagree.

    (I put Honda in ama mx because they would have to win something this year)

    Since I have a good record on jagging answers I’ll have a crack:

    WEC = Gas Gas
    AORC = Yamaha
    Aus Safari = Honda
    Dakar = KTM
    AMA SX = Yamaha
    AMA MX = Kawasaki
    Aus SX = Honda
    Finke = Honda
    A4DE = BMW

    Ok here goes, as good as B Grabham is I dont trust the kato, I saw how much drama Wonka had with engines at Finke and have heard the stories from other years having said that if Ben uses a standard engine like when he rode the Hondas at Finke (very small mods) maybe the difference

    I was more going out on a limb when I chose Yamaha. They have been good for ’08’, it’s all on Suzuki to perform now though.

    Seems you all expect big things from BMW’s first year at the WEC? Is it the rider/s your following that makes you pick. Husky was doing well in it last year, until the rider broke and fluffed the season. I haven’t follwed any of it with any great interest, i occasionaly read bits and pieces but thats it. TB. there was a Husky 610 entered the Finke last year. any idea of how it went? I think it’s a tad heavy for such an event, but then people rides thiose trucks called KTM 990’s in events like that..shows how much i know eh? Am curious to know how it went though and dont seem to be able to get info on it.

    Yep, my money’s on Merriman too. I reckon he’s got the goods, he doesn’t have aanything to prove and has heaps of experience.

    Husky sent Jehi out there, no mechanic no support, Husky should be shot for what they did. It melted the wiring harness out of it and shut the EFI down :(

    The 990 the year before I think it was or the year before was recorded at 205km!!!!!! FARK!!!!!!!!!!!!
