    Hi Guys,
I have done some riding of late :), and have decided its time to update the big yellow DRZ400.
I want to change teams, but not too sure where I should now place my allegiance.
I recently rode a KTM350EXC with EFI and OMG it was F fantastic, quick, instant throttle response, light nimble etc.
I would love one of these but the bride is not too keen on the price tag.
I also really like the Husaberg FE390 But, see above.

So I am thinking about a 2nd hand KTM EXC 450, or Blue WR450, I have even seen a Husky TE450 for sale on this site.
Even though I don’t think I need (or handle) all the power of a 450…

Any thoughts or comments or other possible suggestions??
    I think I want a 4 stroker
I think I will have a top dollar spend of $10k
I am a grade 3 rider on a good day, weigh about 95kg (in normal clothes)
I ride around 7-10 weekends a year, normally out Portland, Capertee way (if any of the above makes any difference)

On a side note I have a DRZ400 for sale!!! Pics etc and ad to come.

    Thanks for your time,

    Cheers

All looks like a good idea Action. I personally would go any of those options but the Husky one.
If you like 4 bangers you can’t go past a taxi WR.

My bro inlaw just brought a 07 ktm 450 for $5000 with about 6mths rego. It goes nice and revs out real good. He’s since binned it and stuffed his foot but that’s another story:laugh:

Can i just ask action. Why do you think it is time to change? Is the DR to slow? feel you have now used it to what you can get out of it and need something faster? is it to heavy?

Another to consider is the KTM400.

Everyone that I’d spoken to that owned one loved them ;)

I was considering one until I rode the 350 and decided to spend Sam’s inheritance on me instead :P

And to answer Corey8’s question re updating from a DRZ (a bike I loved) pick up a DRZ a few times and you have your answer ;)

Age overtakes your youth without you realizing it

    Adam.

As i am a DRZ owner i find the easiest way around the weight issues of picking them up is not to lay them down   :P :P  👿

Corey/Adam, I had a very hard ride, got lost (11.5 hours in the saddle) very technical (i’m only a grade 3) had to pick the F thing up about 6 times in an hour and I was absolutely r@@ted.

Someone has mentioned I should look at something with under 4000kms. ??
I’m not sure why axel said I should pass on the Husky though.
Also looking for something reasonably newish 08,09,10 model etc.

Just my opinion Action, if your a fan, have owned one before or if you want to keep it for the long term – got for it. If your dealership is close by and you have a mate that works there – excellent.
There is a higher risk of a Husky being … not quite right and being more demanding on the wallet. There is the resale issue too. I have ridden a few and they are not any better than anything else if you know what I mean.

Well no offence or any thing Action but any dirt bike after 11.5 hours in the saddle would feel heavy and you would be over it i think.
