im thinking about buying a road bike but after something under 300cc for the cheaper rego. after something to be able to handle the wollongong to sydney ride (about 80k’s with about 50 at 110kms/h) comfortably. i was looking at rgv 250’s, they come at a reasonable price, around 4 grand for a decent one, but i dunno about the freeway kms sitting on 120. anyone else got a reccomendation for something under 300cc as i dont really want to pay for 3 full priced regos a year. I’m not worried at all about type of bike.
November 15, 2009 at 7:58 am #161111basically anything 4 cylinder. and 4 stroke.
rgv is a 2 cyl 2 stroke. so too is honda nsr and i think kwaka yami may do something similar but i may be wrong.
kwaka zxr 250 /zx2 are ok. my bro’s on off ex has one, tame under 6-7000 rpm. cut cat after that.
suzuki across is 4 pot 4 cyl also. prob. a tamed gsxr 250.
kwaka zzr 250 parallel twin. nice bike as far as i’m aware .
>>>>>>>MickD has listed his sis in law’s gpx 250r, same engine as zzr just diff. frame and styling / fairings.
check out http://www.sumoto.com.au/
gives you a wide range of 250’s i think there is a store in Syd. that do a similar thing but i don’t know it off hand.

AnonymousThere was a Yamaha that was a 250 4 cylinder fuel injected road bike in the late 90’s early 00’s. I cant remember the model but they looked pretty cool.
It was another one of the bikes that Kylie was considering once

At least I suggested a bike. You just quoted my post, some other BS that you cut and pasted and then said ‘let us know what you get Green450’.
That’s some of your best work yet
I’ve ridden with Dan a few times and call you that he can’t handle the power of the 110. maybe a Cub 90? They after all better than a 916 and a rocket bike
PS – I have some bad experience with a 2 stroke on the road – don’t do it!
November 17, 2009 at 2:37 am #161317No I wrote it Moto and put it in “‘s mate, not a cut and paste will leave it to you, read it the other day actually

Anonymous2 strokes on the road – don’t do it Dan
You could get some old school cool 250 4 banger?
November 18, 2009 at 8:17 am #161321test rode a suzuki gsx250f across today, cheap and seem like they would do the job. sounds like your riding really fast cause the little suckers rev to 16500rpm, gonna test ride a zzr tomorrow and compare them and choose from those two i spose, will look into the yamaha too dan. Moto i reckon i could probably handle a posties power, but i dont think 80ks flat out will do the job, and after more research im not going to go for a 2 stroke anyway but thnks for your keen insight all the same
