Hey Chicken,
I wanna see a few pics of your XR and maybe a article on it. I am sure it is a mean machine, seeing that it is TB’s old bike. I am assuming that is it, in the little pic on the home page at the moment and it looks pretty good, but I would like to see some bigger pics.
Cheers
MickJuly 15, 2008 at 10:28 pm #105516Yes it was my bike thats a fact, and chicken is an ideas man and he works on bull dozers sometimes I can see that with his maintance ! Come Chicken lets have some pictures, I will start the ball rolling.
July 15, 2008 at 10:41 pm #105517Are you sure that is chicken’s bike??? Looks more like my brother Chris’ mighty machine.
July 16, 2008 at 10:28 am #105518Boys,
Chicken won’t be replying to any enquiries or questions! He’s too busy hammering out lap after lap after lap after lap of his “secret squirrel” training track in the Watagans. He’s totally dedicated to defending his title as the reining “2007 Old Bull Yellow Mountain Trophy” holder. You’ve got to admire his drive and committment!
He kicked Crashes arse last year and is preparing to kick everybody elses this year!
Trailboss has all the bling – but can he “sing” It’s been a few years since he has had a go. Can he sustain the concerntration for the 6 or 7 hours required over the 2 days?
Can the coughing, hiccuping, hesitating 6fiddy last the distance. Hopefully this weekend will indicate how all the “guns” prep’s are going!!!
CrashJuly 16, 2008 at 10:38 am #105519Cant Wait for the outcome. Will it be on Austar or Fox??
July 16, 2008 at 11:08 pm #105533CNN have the rights to the coverage Mick!
Coughing 650 not mine, 6 or 7 hours I wont be taking that long, you maybe but not me.
Its a trailride as is this weekend and I will be giving nothing away either day.
Have a nice dayHey Crash are you going to update the nice people on the progress of the clone?
July 21, 2008 at 9:24 pm #105520Still waiting. I wanna see some pics!!!!! I like the look of the back end, what rear guard is on it? From what I can make out in the little pic on the home page it looks trick.
July 22, 2008 at 1:50 am #105660Yeah come on Chicken, he does everything including rebiulding his shock and gassing it himself and he thunders the old girl along with the best of them, come on Chicken tell all
July 22, 2008 at 9:11 am #105521Not much to tell Mikuni flat slide with undamaged staintune pipe ( special note for TB) cr500 rear guard and cut to suit, race tech fork springs .46kg/mm and adjusted to suit 24liter tank ( Stops the ducking and diving under hard front brakes) braided front brake line. Regased and reoiled rear shock reset static sag gased to 165psi nitrogen charge(need heavier rear spring on the todo list.) Mousses front and rear on old banged up rims from TB.
Engine needs a freshen up but started on first kick in Capertee with a frost.
Thats about it Mick no bells no whistles no bling just a good honest tractor.July 22, 2008 at 10:43 am #105522Mate that’s all you need, I could have any bike I want to be honest, but choose to have my old tractor because they are good honest bikes, that you can fix in the back shed. There is three of us here, that love our XR’s and ride them most weekends. I would like to do something to trick up the suspension though.
I still would like to see a bigger picture of your beast.July 22, 2008 at 10:47 am #105697Come on Chicken me sratching your rims, they look like stop signs not round and you fail to mention that you had to bash the back rim back out with a 14 pound sledge hammer, how much could the tyre levers sratch it?? You are an idiot !!
July 22, 2008 at 9:28 pm #105683Appology to TB about banged up rims it must have been tyre lever damage
July 22, 2008 at 9:50 pm #105745Appology accepted, by the way you changed the tyres remember! You are still an idiot !
June 18, 2009 at 8:44 am #105746So Chicken has there been some sort of refit for the old 600 mate?
Rumour has it that there is a new rear shock spring and shock rebuild, new cables, spare cables run next to the cable for just in case, tyres, new or new to the bike wheels
How about a new rear axle nut
