Got to Zig Zag about 7:15 with coffees for Chris Rolf and myself. Rolf rang and said he was going to be 15min late. Chris turned up about 7:20 and there were two other guys near us preparing to ride. Turns out Chris knows these guys, Russell and James. Chris told them to join the site as they are like most of the guys here, getting back into riding. Rolf turns up and with coffees consumed where off.

Russell volunteered to lead a loop they do regularly of nice fire trail and single track. Starting with the normal singles and trails to the motocross track and then onto more commonly used singles. Russell and James had found some rarely used singles and fire trail that were just magic to ride on.

Nice smooth and flowing and a good pace kept big smiles on everyone. Russell took us to an endruo loop that is near the camp ground (I think) and we all did a lap. Then we reversed the tracks all the way back to the cars. An excellent morning’s ride with great guys. Good to meet Chris, Russell and James. Looking forward to the next ride.
Rolf and I went to Mt Vic pub for a rump steak and a couple of beers :woohoo: . Then I was off for another ride later in the arvo  .

Only a couple of small issues for the ride.
Russell had a fuel issue, or lack thereof. He had hit reserve at about 25km  and he thinks that the fuel leaked out in the trailer over night. Chris drained a couple of litres out his WR and James had about half a litre spare from his back pack fuel drum. This got him to the end of the ride.
Rolf got a rear flat. He had a spare tube, so we had it fix in no time.

James took a few pics. Mainly of Rolf and I fixing his flat and the Berg bogged (ECKS you will remember this bog hole when I took you through it when you had the banana)
James is going to email them to Chirs and he will post then when time permits.

    Cheers
    Mal.

I hate that boghole Mal, I stuck the WR in it the other day too, but unlike the mighty banana, the WR was light enough that I could lift it out myself! 😆

Sounds like a good ride, was it dusty? Patto reckons it was surprisingly dusty, especially considering the wet ride we had the previous weekend!

Yeh it was a bit dusty on the more commonly used tracks. We stayed on the eastern side of the Glow Worms Tunnel Road and seen two small groups of riders all morning and that was on open fire trail.

You must have been keen Mal, a before and after lunch loop! Sounds like the best way to spend a day. I’ll look forward to having a browse and some of the pics when they’re up :)

Yeh I was keen for a ride yesterday. Paying for it today though. The arvo loop was techincal, steep rocky single track. Very hard on the body after the morning loop.
It is a good way to spend a day. 2 good rides, great blokes to ride with, rump steak and beer…
