i was over at a mates house on friday. he is a 2stroke tech and had just made this xpansion chamber for this 74 kx 450.
word is, all it had done in it’s whole life is 2 desert races in california or mexico.
it was so light and had a plastic tank. suspension felt dead though.

big old school 2stroke, shitty brakes and suspension, racy through the desert not knowing what is next.

it would be fun in gary’s padock though (see OBT A4DE report)

i think it is owned by the editor of VMX magazine. may see next month it in action at the crawford river classic. i think i should be able to beat it for that 1m in the middle of each corner on my 125 elsinore. before it gets back on the gas

that is one heck of a piece of history there Champo, the old Kwakas often get overlooked in the scheme of things and of course the suspension feels dead, dual PDS!

Very oldschool, but cool none the less. It would be good around Gary’s paddock!

the one in the linked photo has a metal tank. for some reason i’m told that the next model dropped the plastic tank. not sure why, but i assume that some counties do not like plastic fuel tanks

From dim dark distant memory the FIM (or it’s predecessor) banned plastic tanks from competition due to a few early examples splitting.
