    Just for the records…….

NO ONE HAS HAD TO RIDE MY BIKE UP A HILL!!!!!!

I offered Corey a ride as he hadn’t ridden such a fine powerful machine, such is the XR650R.

How it was misconstued that he had to, is beyond me.

So that everyone can plan their trip, here are ride times for Friday and Saturday.
Friday we will head out at 3pm for a 2 hr loop.
Saturday morning starts with a rider brief at 8am. Both of these rides start from the visitors parking lot of the Darlington Beach Resort.
    The link is here http://www.darlingtonbeach.com.au/holiday-park-map
The parking lot is outside the park gates so if you are not staying there it is no problem to park and unload.
If it is not too much trouble on the Saturday morning can you wheel your bike out of the park gates before you warm it up. If your cabin is way down the back then it is a bit of a hike but if possible the less bikes we have warming up in the grounds before 8am the better the chance of us getting back in again B)
I will have a ute waiting in the car park to load fuel etc onto which will meet us at lunch. Location of lunch is only about a km from the resort so if you do need to go back for some reason you can but your fuel will be shuttled to lunch so you can relax and enjoy your $10 special :woohoo: Distance for Saturday is a tad over 100ks and will take us all about 7 hours so if you need a lunch time top up then mark a can of fuel and bring it to the rider brief. Pair up where possible.
For those not riding on Friday but joining us for dinner a shuttle bus will pick us up from the parking lot at 6.30pm.
As mentioned earlier in the thread the ride on Saturday consists of two loops that Nickj and myself will lead. I asked for anyone who needs to be paired up to let me know as the groups will be formed randomly on the morning. So far I have two Bulls who are sharing tools so I take it everyone else is happy to leave it to chance.
Regardless of the group you end up in you will get to ride every trail and we all meet for lunch. At the completion of the afternoon loops both groups will meet at a picnic ground on a beach for snacks and a home brew sampling session. From their all 35 of us will ride 6km of flat fast sand back to your cabins.
If you have a beverage that you would prefer for the afternoon picnic then you can leave that in an esky at the rider brief and that wil be shuttled to the beach.
Any questions just PM the dancing hippo and he will pass it on to me.

    Let the countdown continue!!

So far I have laid out the itinerary up the point where Saturday afternoon all 35 of us roost up the beach at 5.30pm on low tide after some nibbles and home brew :woohoo: . From there it is back to the resort to have a shower before the BBQ. The resort has some great facilities and they have a camp cook house next to a lagoon that will be the perfect spot for a big BBQ. The beach is not far away and the lagoons are swimmable so we have all the makings of a good night B) . It is also over by the unpowered tent sites so most the punters will have already moved on once Bol, Pep and Krusty make their presence felt :P .
If worse comes to worse I have a shuttle bus on standby for the pub. :silly:
Just make sure you pack some food to BBQ. I am not talking anything fancy but a few snags, an onion and a loaf of bread should do the job.

Sunday there will be a three hour ride heading about at 9am. Most of you have the three nights for two deal so you can go back and get showered up before you have to leave. It also means you don’t have to pack in the morning before you head out. Brisbane is 4 hours away and Sydney is 6 so there is no excuse for not being on the Sunday ride.
If you are staying Sunday night I will also lead an afternoon ride.

Thanks to everyone for letting me know your movements as it is making the planning a lot easier. Apparently I have spent more time and effort planning this ride than I did for my wedding but my wife has been known to be wrong before. ;)

    Cheers

Everything is in place Boony. It is now up to Mother Nature!

A big thanks to Tdriver who not only gave up two whole Sundays to cut trails but also donated hi vis vests and contributed in many other ways.
And a massive thanks to Nickj who agreed to run as second lead in terrain that was not his backyard. As much fun as we have riding together the last two months has been about learning his route and studying maps and marking GPS points. It is a lot of responsibility leading that many riders and he proved last weekend that not only does he have his loop down but has spent so much time learning the forest that he has bail out routes and short cuts planned if need be. Keep in mind Nick lives 1.5 hours away so he has invested a lot of travel time to ride regardless of weather. If you want someone in your corner when it comes to putting together a weekend like this then Nickj is your man.

I have enjoyed every minute of putting this together and any way that I can give back to OBT is my pleasure indeed.

Thanks for the kind words Scott , but unfortunatley this is all a selfish act and great excuse to ride some awesome trails !! :woohoo:
At no point has helping with this ride been any more than good fun and a top excuse to give the missus that I have to help a mate in need ‘ what can I do ??? I gotta go riding in Coffs AGAIN! B)
you have excelled in preperation and all I’ve had to do is ride and remember a couple of turns ( I learnt them all on the first ride the rest was an act to ride them again and again! :woohoo: )

All I know is all Old Bulls attending are in for an awesome weekend!!

Hey, anyone got a spare spot for me to stay on Saturday night.

Happy to sleep on floor or bathtub.
