Anyone keen for a grade5 australia day weekend?
Based in bellingen, riding 3 or 4 days including the lowanna ride on the sat.
All rides except the lowanna one will be grade 5 (plenty of hills).

    Plan A
    Thursday
Riding the south side lots of hills more than 20 including 5 hardish ones , well stay close to town so as people turn up they can meet up with us.

    Friday
The big one, well do the promised land single track , up four mile ?, then head to coffs then lunch and fuel at bonville then pine creek (the most fun you can have on a dirt bike) on the way home.Get back around 6pm.

    Saturday
    Riding to Lowanna grade 4.
leave Bello 8am ,then up crossmaglen hill out to lowanna including the quarry and georges goldmine single track then lunch and fuel around 130pm then an easier trip back , home by 530pm. There will be a BBQ or something , I will set up a hot outdoor shower so Al or STM can clean up if they want to hang around for a feed.

    Sunday
We will finish off pine creek then ride some local singles close to town so people can take off when they need to.

    Plan B
Because people are coming from so far away, if it rains there will still definetly be a back up ride.
We will drive about 40 mins south to Macksville , it holds up alot better in the wet than the red clay and black mud of Bello.
There is easily 2 days of top riding down there
And there is a ok ride on the south side of bello if its wet.

    Accomadation
    Check the “STAYZ” website.
Or The Federal Hotel 66551003 ,Diggers Tav.66550007
Bellingen Caravan park.call kim on 0427 551 653 He quoted me $10 per person per night to camp , showers and toilets there.
    Bellingen Backpackers 66551116
    Bellingen motor lodge 6655 1599

The pubs, caravan park, takeaway and fresh water river are all within walking distance of my house .

Well worth the effort Rocket , Ev knows endless awesome trails, it just keeps getting better and better on his rides ;)

Bellingen rides with Ev are the only ones I’ve been on that end in leg and arm cramps  :pinch:

Kram youve got poll position mate.
Galey and white rocket hope you can make it , it is a long drive , but will be worth it,8 hours of sitting down will probably seem appealing after 3 days in Bello.

    Hey Ev
If you have an idea of which rides you have planned on which days I will organise to make it along to a couple.

Im thinking two big ones ,grade 5 on the fri, grade 4 to lowanna on the sat.
Then maybe half rides on the thurs arvo and sun morn.
There is about 600 ks of prime riding around Bello so the stamina will run out long before the trails.
The trails are as good as anywhere, and completely different to out west , its mountainous rainforest ,heaps of really tight single track and massive hills.
Accomadation will depend on numbers I have one spare room and a verandah, plus a big backyard, there are two pubs , a caravan park (no cabins though) and two dozen bed and breakfasts.
There are cabins and houses for rent ten min away in Urunga.
If you need convincing check out the ride reports bellingen to lowanna jan 2011,and coffs grade 4 18/9.

    Great reading lads.

The dets sound good. Ev , what is your rear tyre of choice for the slick singles, rocky climbs and deep creek crossings? Looks like the stack of half worn tyres wont get a run for this sweet weekend.

If you can afford it the softer the better, but on a budget ive been using geomax and retreads this year.
Bring a new one if you can , ive just got a Knobby knife , so we can touch up any tyres that need it.
