Murph you “Turkey”, I’m leaving early Wednesday morning and staying at my Grandparents place in Macksville, having a couple of beers and scotchs with Pop.

I love the rain and mud but after watching NBN news I think I may have to forfit our positions for Thursday and Friday.
Ev, you dudes are seriously flooding.
I had organised annual leave for a couple of days but that can be cancelled
Will keep an eye out for more of your rides mate

    No worries Murph.
    To anyone still coming
Dont worry the flooding is not as serious as they make out, its just the bridge that goes under and it will be above the water by tonight, we are not isolated there are other ways into town, no houses are flooded it happens regularly ,if the bridge was 2m higher we wouldnt even make the news.
As far as the riding goes I know what people are expecting and if it wasnt possible I would call it off.
The rain today was very heavy in patches, but it only rained for a total of about 4 hours ,the sun even came out for 30 mins.
The forecast for Fri, Sat,and Sun is alot better than today.
STM has had a lot less rain up his way than on his last ride and he has offered to lead us for a day up there if need be.
South Bello, Macksville and STMs are rideable even in the worst case scenario.

I can back up Ev with the weather. I went to nambuca today walked the breakwall and got sunburnt something shocking. The rain is in patches , wish I bought the bike over!

Great that we will still get some riding in Ev / STM. It is a grade 5 ride after all. I think a brand new rear tyre might be compulsory for this weekend. ;)

Ev ,we are planning on coming up via Armidale. Is it the best way with the flooding or go the coast rd?

Go the coast Galey, the road between Dorrigo and Bello is called “Waterfall Way ” the waterfalls actually cover the road when its flooding. They have had alot of rain up there 226ml in one day.
Bellingen 160ml but Coffs only had 26ml,Nambucca 10ml, Colambatti ( Near Macksville) 22ml.
    Its patchy and unpredictable.
    The Bom says
    Thurs – rain easing
Fri, Sat Sun a few showers
Its not gunna be the ride we wanted Nth Bello and west Coffs are a write off, well be making the best out of a bad situation. But second best around here is still OK
I know for sure Macksville will be sweet.
But the fact is Ive never riden alot of the other trails when its this wet so there is the potential for things to happen.
This would be my third Bello washout so I wont be offended if no one turns up.
We can reschedule but that would take months and it could washout anyway.
Planning this far ahead on the Nth coast is tricky.
If people are still keen then it will happen.
I think if were smart about it and prepared we can stay out of trouble and have a decent ride about 70%,We will have to do a bit of driving, and we will get wet.

    Love your attitude LC B)
I spent some time on the phone to Ev last night and there is a plan B and C. I have not had ad much rain up my way as before the November ride and WR all know how good that turned out. Possibly a bit of extra driving as Ev says but he will not give up. It won’t he dusty!
