January 24, 2012 at 4:40 pm #215009I was so close to calling it off but after seeing the staunchness of Bob, Galey and Matt I decided to have a crack and see (or maybe it was the can of bourbon)
I went for a 2 hour recon North and South.
It was pouring from the moment i left but Im happy to say it was alot better than id hoped ,even some of the northside was rideable.
I got up 3 of the 4 nastiest hills on the south side first go, and a tricky little rutty clay one on the Northside.
There were a few creeks that were high but others that were surprisingly low.
Conditions cant get any worse than they were today, but i can honestly say it was fun.
And Macksville will be 100% better than here.
The bridge is about to open and even Waterfall Way is open.
Its on!! 👿 👿January 24, 2012 at 5:13 pm #213306Lets go
Galey get ur shit together , i’ll be there early so we can make a move this arvo if u want
we might even be able to get a room
as for all you locals who r pulling the pin harden up u can’t always have perfect conditions
(famous last words)friday and saturday will be awsome, absolutely awseome

January 24, 2012 at 10:01 pm #215017I cant believe how many times a Bello ride has been stuffed up with flooding rain. It seems every time someone tries to put a Bello ride on, we have a significant weather event here on the Mid North Coast. It goes back 3 years now here on OBT, right from when Aarochild tried to run a ride up that way. The best laid plans can be stuffed up by the weather. Good luck with it EV and congrats to the boys that are still willing to take it on!

It will not be the ride he had originally planned but he will make the best of it. He is going to make something happen on Bello Southside tomorrow, friday has moved up to my place. Saturday is down to Macksville and by Sunday morning Northside Bello could be on. Keep your eye on the ride report because either way it will make for good reading.

January 25, 2012 at 11:46 am #215021Gentlemen, its been pissing down here in Crescent Head for at least the last 12 hours.
I don’t feel like trashing my bike or the trails so I’m officially pulling the pin.
I was so looking forward to riding in your backyard EV. Can we please try again soon.

January 25, 2012 at 8:14 pm #215028We drove to Stuarts Point last night arrived @ 2am this morning, it rained all the way.
Today it has rained on & off all day.
Just saw the news Bellingen Bridge is under again, the Waterfall way flooded between the Pacific Highway & Bellingen.
As much as I enjoy a ride, I don’t think I could be bothered as I’ve ridden most of this area & been caught out in a shower & amazing how it changes the tracks. For those of you that go riding I hope it is worth it.
Dragged the roadies up hoping to do the Oxley, Waterfall Way and a few other roads, looking at the forecast they’ll spend the week in the garage.
