I must say, cold starting bikes without choke on smells to me like rich pilot/air screw mixture.
Every bike is different so it takes time to work out the starting procedure that works best.
For what it’s worth, (Kato 2st) I cold start with a kick and re-start with button when hot. IN recent years, after every ride and before loading on trailer, I drop the bike on it’s side on the ground to drain the float bowl. Not very environmental I know.

I also failed to mention that the RMX fuel tap is hopeless at sealing off fully the flow of fuel and it only takes a very small weep from the needle and seat to allow fuel to enter the crankcase.Leave it long enough and you wont get it started without pulling the head and barrel off and drying it out. Thats speaking from experience!! You have to remove the fuel hose and put a plug in it.

Well had another work out with the RMX yesterday, try’d all the stuff, same deal. This is what i’v got….engin not much wear, compresion AOK, mixture, within. “definately not floding”. From scratch, turn on fuel, leev it,come back, choke on,kick kick kick choke of kick kick kick choke on kick kick kick etc, have rest, check plug,,,dry, “always dry”, put a bit of fuel down it’s throte, kick kick vrooom, now it runs ok. I’m wondering, slide needel??? is on midle seting, could moving this help with start up?????

Tez, nothing to do with the slide and needle mate. If anything maybe a blocked pilot jet. Have you given the carb a good stripdown and clean, blow thru all the passages with compressed air should only be a half hours work. Definatley not getting fuel
