    Probably been asked before,
But am what company do most of you guys on here use or find the best coverage???
Have heard that some may not cover for dirt use (fire trails etc)
Need to set up a policy for the 690 by the weekend & though this would be the best way to gather info & experiences good & bad

Thanx in advance for any useful comments ;)

Yes, I looked at them last night actually & did an online quote, heaps cheaper than NRMA & GIO .,,,,,
Just seemed too good to be true

I didn`t worry about ride gear but added a couple of grand on mods for the bike :)

    Thanx Again

Ditto except for riding gear. Been using them for a few years now and its agreed value, not market value that is open to a lot of interpretation if you need to make a claim for a stolen bike as a friend found out unfortunately.

By the way eags the bike looks good, they dont have a very good steering lock for tight tracks. Mine has about 20k km on it now and no real problems.

Yeh, he had an 05 model KTM stolen from his garage. Im pretty sure it was QBE he was insured with and because the bike had 04 compliance plate (but was an 05 model, makes a diff of about $1000 in value at the time) they wanted to pay him out the value of an 04 model. He had to send in photos of the bike with all the extras it had and get letters from the dealer and KTM stating that it was in fact an 05 model and worth much more than what the insurance company wanted to pay out. He finally got the payout value increased but only after much hassling ( but not what it was really worth).
IMR are bike savy and know how the KTM year models run so no hassle and its agreed value.

    Cheers Mick,
My bike is manufactured 2009 on the rego papers, but classified 2010,,,,
IMR came back with agreed value of $14,500 ,
And they are $200 cheaper than others , with less excess by $200 as well

    Looks like a good choice

g,day eagle.not trying to put you of insure my ride but I will never use them again. I derailed a chain on a firetrail and bent my gear selector shaft into the case and cracked the case. I told them what happened and they told me that I was not covered. But if I had slid up the road, hit a car, broke bones and cracked the case I would have been covered. This was a 1hr argument over the phone with this company. I told them you have too many grey areas in your policy that you have to work out for other claims. I will never use them again. This is just my 2 cents worth, but my claim was for damage, fire and theft.$1500 later i was out of pocket.what more damage do they want.just be carefull mate.thats all.DY4.

IMR is definately by far the cheapest, but I am still a bit confused on the actual coverage for dirt use
Suppose I will just ring them tomorrow to be sure,,,,,

No more experiences out there ?????

    Anyone????

I have since e-mailed them & will assess the answer tomorrow (if they reply)

Yep one of my bikes is with IMR and I’m sure it’s covered for off road use. They only cover for maket value but that’s pretty much standard these days.

I rang them when I was looking around for insurance and they were nice to talk too and knew all about bikes (a they should).
