Righto I just did an online enquiry with insure my ride.

To insure the new YZ250F we have.

For theft only and the youngest rider being me at 46 the premium was $290.39 PA

then I did it again stating the youngest rider being 17 (it wouldn’t allow me to put 14 in ) the premium for the same agreed value was $633.87.

How does the age of the rider affect the possibility of it being stolen to warrant such a jump in price???

I know what your saying Mick because the chance of you riding it to the pub then forgetting it and leaving it their until morning are far greater than Conner doing so !!

Bloody mystery the insurance game !!

I notice a lot of people are with IMR, I steered clear of them when I read the below extract from their PDS in the exclusions page.

    7. Any legal liability for personal injury in respect of an
unregistered bike – or in fact any bike being used
    offroad.

Personal injury isn’t covered by any comprehensive insurance. Thats what CTP is for.

Totally agree and as with all other PDS’s, IMR mention they don’t cover personal injury to any persons earlier in the document. But I get a bit wary when they specifically mentioned offroad use, all be it in the context of personal injury.

Then again I may be just be getting a bit paranoid as I get older
