I do not want to destroy the jovialty of this thread but when I went for my bike licence (5 years ago) I went straight from my L’s to my opens because I was over 30. Obviously I don’t know STM but I would have guessed he was over 30. Maybe the rules have changed. Maybe they think that STM is not a responsible adult. Maybe I have missed the point of the whole thread. Just putting it out there.

    They changed the rules mate.

Man that sucks. I guess that means your on a 0.02 limit when on the bike as well. Do you have to do the full 3 year P thing. Sounds like I got back into bikes at the right time. I didn’t even have to do the training course thing because I am too far away from the nearest training centre.

ahhh that explains the Black bike then :P

well done STM, Nothing to be embarrassed about, we all had to start somewhere, although i was a little taken aback as there was no mention of you’re being ‘L’ s….. it is only a reflection on your license status only by the sounds of it, not any reflection on your skill or ability from all the reports i’ve read of your rides.

Don’t feel too dirty Shell
I wasn’t riding too long without going through the system.
I rode as a kid on 50’s and 80’s and after high school I went overseas and spent the next decade in the ski industry chasing back to back winters. I settled back in Sydney after that and worked the next decade in the bicycle industry and rode a lot of MTB. Three years ago I moved to the Coffs Coast and just over two years ago I bought my Yammie.
Funny how you never forget and all DH mountain bike riding certainly helped. I got my L’s in April 2010 four months after I got the bike.
Sorry if the history lesson is boring but I know a few people were a bit shocked and others thought that I had probably been riding illegally for years.

    Cheers
