I actually don’t think that’s all that good, not as far as a demo for a new bike goes anyway. I’m not saying I could do better but when you look at it he doesn’t do anything really tricky.
December 3, 2009 at 2:42 am #163749You realise that it’s an electric bike right?
December 3, 2009 at 2:54 am #163764
AnonymousYes, why should that make a difference? If he jumped from the top box to the floor I would have been impressed.
It should be able to generate more torque than a petrol engine and in a fraction of the time, especially since it doesn’t have to run long doing a display.
Maybe I’m hard to please?

AnonymousJust watched it again as I think I may been harsh with my judgement. The second time round I’m even less impressed
They do a couple of wheelie’s and stoppies, skilfull on the riders part but hardly a testament to how good the bike is. Then jump over the back of the ute, all 5 foot of it with a large, perfectly formed up and down ramp. T
Then the other thing they do is ride up the ramp and flick the bike through 90 degrees (which is the most impressive thing they did as far as I’m concerned) before riding up the little ledge and then jumping off about 3 foot landing on the down ramp
Hardly blow your skirt up material…..

AnonymousThis is what can be done on a trials bike:

This is what can be done on a pushie with no suspension:

And you can look at any erzberg video to see what guys are doing on enduro/MX bikes, all of which makes the zero demo look stupid.
PS – How good are the first 2 vids here

AnonymousQuick to retract your incorrect post TB?
December 3, 2009 at 4:23 am #163783Yeah sorry, it was all out of whack as such and I was going out again to get the kids and didnt what to be misquoted
What I said was your right Moto its not the greatest trails skill display I have ever seen, but and its a small but. Given that I think he would have to repeat the same display over and over again during the 3 days the show was on he couldn’t be doing something to taxing or risking injury could he?The electric bike is interesting as I know nothing about them and as Moto just explained to me on the phone some of our it works / produces its power it will be something in the trials arena maybe sooner then later

January 6, 2010 at 10:03 am #163792Awesome video of Grab and wonka – makes me want to go out and buy a 690 watching the way these guys can ride them but there’s no way I’d be able to belt it anything near these guys.

January 6, 2010 at 10:28 am #167283Thats so cool that footage, funny thing is its all filmed in the water board catchment area between Helensburgh and Appin rd. That area carries a fine up to $11,000!!!! They must have had special permission
I only know that area because we used to ride push bikes therePush bikes

LC would know where I am talking about, the power line sections runs parallel to the M6
Funny they trialed the 690 and raced a 530

January 6, 2010 at 9:42 pm #167294I know the area but haven’t ridden in there
I’m very curious now about why they ran the 530.

You know I thought it looked like the road out near Appin right near the Darwalh conservation area I have ridden many times from Appin to Wedderburn and back to the pub its great for practice but the greenies kicked up a fuss and now there is a gate I have seen the trailbike squad twice out there and they just asked us where we are going and they were ok because we are regoed. onetime they even had polair in the sky to tell the cops where to go
