well a week later i see no report from coolatai so ill take the honors!
well it was quiet the fresh morning out there, i had a issue earily with toes going numb !
once signed on and the bike was passed it was a case of the waiting game ( as i was one of the first out there, way too keen ! ) but sure enought all the bikes started rolling in … and they didnt stop ! 77 bikes in total registered to race.
on the sight lap ( the track was 16km long ) it started off looking alot like goanna tracks, nice moist sand, pine forest .. this is awesome i can do this all day … then out of no where it went from nice flowing sand .. to tight rock sections. chopped out rocky hills with those nice fist sized rocks to set you off your line. WHERE’D THIS COME FROM ! well i know i can handle this but after 4 hours im going to hate this place where the main thoughts going through my head after seeing this.
back to the pits top up the fuel, get ready to race. on the start line legs spread over the front wheel a gentleman on the side line yells out ” what class is this ” i yell back ironman .. from there it turned to a full blowen conversation! I look across quickly mid conversation to see how far we where from start, nek minute the flag drops ! CRAP !! i fly around the bike started first kick but i missed the gear leaver and nearly valve tap at the line .. the shame
once i got going it wasnt long to get into a rhythm, i had 1 lap where i questioned did i want to keep going, my neck, kidneys, shoulders had had enough, but once those thoughts entered was when i started to catch people in a worse state then me … well i had to finish then
i finished the race and think i have got 4th again but maybe now 3rd overall in the series! was a pearler of a day. met gibbit ( tops bloke ) on his YZ ( that was far too clean ) i couldnt find husky bloke and his partner and i think i seen Anthony from bike territory.
huge thanks has to go to the land owner who lets us race there, i had a quick yarn to him and he was a tops bloke
so untill 22nd of September where we take on copton ( i herd its the hardest track of the year ) thats all from me for races unless i can find other races down south.

June 30, 2013 at 9:10 am #245192well done rookie , sounds like you havn a great run
June 30, 2013 at 9:25 am #245199well i met up with gibbet rookie but didnt find you , i was keepin an eye out we stayed down the park the night before with a well packed swag i came up with leon in his f350 hes been building
after signing in and set the pits up the next day we were ready this has been the first trail / enduro ride ive done in 18 months felt a bit rusty when i came up to the rockface hill but after forgetting my goggles at the start and getting stuck on the rockface hill behind another rider (no magic button on this one) on the first lap and coming off on my second round i just stop thinking about everything and thought my laps were getting better, leon my team mate hadnt rode for 18 months he struggled for fitness but i think he still liked it.
there was a healthy turnout with close to 80 bikes
coolatai is a great track a bit of everything i have no idea where we came ( as rookie says its been a week and vMoree club still has not posted times yet  )but it was down the list but still had a great day
looking forward to copeton havent raced there yet but have heard mixed feelings towards itJune 30, 2013 at 10:02 am #245193Better put my 2 bobs worth in too.
It was great to meet you Rookie and Huskybloke.
I had a great day and loved the track. I couldn’t get a partner so went it alone in the 35s. I lead my class and was doing well. I had a good run and came home in third. I recon I could have done better with a bigger tank as I had to stop to refuel and the two in front didn’t.
I was pretty happy concidering I hadn’t compeated since Finke last year.June 30, 2013 at 10:49 am #245239I tell you what you couldn’t miss that f350! She’s a flash rig Haha I was keeping an eye out for you husky bloke but how many ktms where there ! Lol
The rock face hill was the best place to catch people ( I found anyway ) at one stage I was chasing a sweep rider that was on foot watching people come off Haha I laughed anyway.
Yeah definatly poor form there, armidale had the results up that night and narrabri took at the most 3 days … its fustrating because I want to see my lap times compaired to the bloke that blitzed us in ironman. Was a good day anyway, see you all at copton !
July 1, 2013 at 8:20 am #245194Yeah that f truck doesn’t stand out much  what is planned to go between the cab and the headboard ??? Welder or something ???? Cool recount of events guys. Simmo from Tamworth dislocated his shoulder in ironman and had to do two more laps :pinch: then drove home to Tamworth to get his shoulder back in. He said the track was mad but.
July 1, 2013 at 8:24 am #245297I was battling simmo nearly all day ! When I pulled in after my last lap I seen him in the medical tent, I was meant to see what happened but I crashed out for at least 15-20 minutes in pain next to the ute. The shoulders and kidneys copped a flogging ! Hope the big fella is all good now

Simmons said every time he moved his arm he felt like he was getting electrocuted and his hand went purple. When I saw him Thursday night his shoulder was still all blown up. He must be one tough bloke cause he still went to work all week to put food on the table.
Once again well done to all of you.July 1, 2013 at 12:42 pm #245307I was talking to Clayton before the race, very down to earth young bloke. Was meant to catch up with him at the end of the race and see how his 350 went but couldn’t find him. Haha obviously hasn’t had a huge get off yet Haha
Bugger me he done well to finish! Hopefully will catch up with him next race day -
