Quote:think they are doing a hot up deal on the klx 450 at the moment 1000$ gets you a kx450 header pipe cam (not sure if it was the complete head)etc so it will go the same as a kx now that would be a weapon.plus they are a cheap bike at the moment compared to the others newYes this would make them a weapon BUT it is that huge bend in the KLX header that makes the KLX the trail riding machine it is. You put the KX header on and it turns them into more like a WRF and it is all top end power. For those of you who have ridden the KLX you would know what i am talking about and the HUGE amount of low end power they have and thats why I love them so much
May 29, 2010 at 9:54 am #180330i dont know about that Corey but youtake your luck when you get it, and to be honest i have no idea what i will get , iused to be a 2 stroker when i was younger but im pretty much addicted to the big bore grunt nowadays it would be hard to give the grunt away for something smaller
May 29, 2010 at 9:58 am #180333ive had the bike for nearly 4 years now stm and the first couple were fautless with riding nearly every weekend but i had a bad year last year with a bigend goin and a leaking slave cylinder in the clutch( which took a while to work out) so im building a bit of confidence back up in the old girl singletrackmind wrote:

May 29, 2010 at 9:59 am #180334The bottom end grunt and the low down weight is what amazed me , plus throttle feel , brakes, traction …… (we won’t mention the front tyre .. Ah Corey).

Did you end up dropping your forks in the DRZ 10mm and if you did how did that work out for you?
May 29, 2010 at 10:05 am #180340Corey is right Huskybloke. Sounds like you are ready for another BRP

I have been using the new steering dampener for the last 2 rides and left the forks as they were so I had a comparison but after this weekend I will be giving the drz a service and that’s when I will lower the forks in the clamps.
I will let you know the out come for sure!May 29, 2010 at 10:14 am #180345if those 650R,s had the electric leg i probably would go one but the husky is about the 30 kg lighter and with the JD jet kit , pipe and header, qs2 boyeson pump cover and having the head ported and flowed it has as much torque and mid range punch than i will ever need i love the 510 the way its crackin at the moment its pretty hard to get rid of it
May 29, 2010 at 10:16 am #180346Your advice to slow down the rebound definatley helped Nicks bike though Corey. The front end looks to be tracking much better and he gets up hills on his own
