How did Try Hard carry enough for 600km?

    12ltrs in underseat tank
14 ltrs in front aux tank
2 x 4ltr jerry cans in each pannier

42ltrs in total ;) Lotsa will have to tell you the longest distance we did as I didn’t take notice.

    Simple maths 101

    12 + 14 = 26

    26 + 4 + 4 =34 thats 3 and a 4 Tryhard

so how did you get 42 from your above figures

    Well done gentlemen ;)

Given the chance is there anything you would have done differently?????

AND where do you get those Ultra heavy duty 17″ tubes?????

    Kram B)

Kram, I would take a bike with a high top speed. Those long roads can be pretty boring. Faster speed means more interesting riding. And ya get there quicker.

I’ll be buying some to test.

Great report and picks guys. I would have thought that a dr with 15-41 gearing would have had a fast enough top speed Lotsa, were you not happy with the Dr’s performance mate?? Bad luck with the tyre and you did a good job on the rim too!!
Must have hit hard even with the weight you had on the old girl. :woohoo: Good to see that you managed to complete your trip and didnt have any road closures or bad weather, lets hope for more of the same in Oct.

Great stuff Lotsa, looks like you made it to the good spots mate! Hope all went well looking forward to the rest of the report, did you do the bore track or was it too wet!!

Great riding Boulder, it hasn’t rained for 3 months, the roads are like highways. Said gday to Fenn who nearly did himself out of $100 worth of fuel due to a faulty pump price reel. Too honest we are. had a laugh with him. Saw old Dave at bollards and rode the Bore track. Bottom half good although a bloke travelling through with a film crew broke some ribs in a crash. top half not maintained and is closed, making interesting riding. All signs ripped off and I mean broken off. Had 6 drops of rain the whole trip.

    More RR to come.

I came down both sections of the Bore Track last Wednesday in the 4b – the top section from Innaminka is open but is very rough in places and appears not to have been maintained for a long time until you get to the section which is service road for some gas fields and is like a highway. We also came down through Cordillo Downs (still has a road closed sign at the northen end but is all open again) and across Coopers creek in to Innaminka.
